Why should we make up for the shortcomings of the economy?

Insufficient economic development leads to unbalanced economic development. The so-called shortcomings are to further supplement and improve the underdeveloped areas and achieve balanced, coordinated and sustainable economic development.

First, the development of social productive forces in backward and remote areas such as the west is not sufficient, resulting in uneven development between the east and the west.

Second, rural development is insufficient, urban and rural development is unbalanced, and the average income of farmers is lower than that of urban residents.

Third, due to insufficient social development, economic development and social development are unbalanced. Social development is not fully manifested in: 1. In education, rural areas still lag behind cities, and the central and western regions still lag behind the eastern regions in education investment, education quality and schooling opportunities; 2. In terms of medical care, there is still a big gap between urban and rural areas and between regions in terms of health investment, accessibility and utilization of health services and health level; 3. In terms of social security, the proportion of China's social security expenditure to GDP and the coverage rate of old-age insurance are not sufficient, so it is difficult to meet the people's demand for social security and the needs of an aging population. ;

Fourthly, the lack and lag of ecological environment management leads to the imbalance between economic development and ecological environment protection.
