What are the symptoms of liver cancer?

(1) Liver pain:

More than 50% patients have this symptom. The pain is located in the middle of the right upper abdomen or upper abdomen, which is persistent or intermittent and turns to dull pain or tingling. The main reason is that the tumor squeezes the liver capsule and produces traction pain. The tumor deep in the liver is not too painful.

(2) Symptoms of digestive tract:

Loss of appetite, nausea and burping. It can also be manifested as diarrhea, abdominal distension and increased stool frequency.

(3) fever:

Most patients have moderate to low fever, and a few patients have high fever without chills. The reason is that the tumor tissue is necrotic and the heat source is released into the blood circulation.

(4) emaciation and fatigue:

Due to the lack of energy caused by tumor consumption or nutrient absorption disorder, the patient showed emaciation and fatigue.

(5) bleeding tendency:

If the liver function is abnormal and the coagulation function is impaired, gingival bleeding and subcutaneous ecchymosis will occur. Patients with esophageal varices may cause hematemesis or melena due to rupture of esophageal varices.

(6) edema of lower limbs:

Lower extremity edema is also a common symptom of liver cancer, and patients with liver cancer accompanied by ascites often have lower extremity edema. Mild patients can occur in the ankle, and severe patients can spread to the whole lower limb. Patients with liver cancer often have high edema of lower limbs, and water can seep from the thigh skin. The main cause of edema of lower limbs is that ascites of patients with liver cancer oppresses veins of lower limbs and hinders venous return. Mild edema may be caused by low plasma protein concentration.

(7) Acute abdomen:

Some patients may have liver pain and abdominal pain due to rupture of cancer nodules.
