Why should we evaluate the learning and teaching of physical education and health in primary schools?

The curriculum standards of physical education and health closely focus on the guiding ideology of health first, based on the all-round development of each student's body and mind, and cultivate students' lifelong sports consciousness.

In the evaluation of students' physical education learning, the relationship between "emotional attitude" and "knowledge and skills" is not either-or, nor is it the relationship between who has the final say. Both of them are equally important as the contents of physical education learning evaluation.

Before the new curriculum reform, we paid too much attention to the development of students' physical quality and skills, but neglected the evaluation of students' emotional attitude, which was not conducive to students' all-round development. After the curriculum reform, the concept of "health first, lifelong learning" was put forward. Evaluation began to attach importance to the development of students' emotional attitude, but unconsciously ignored the requirements for students' physical quality and skill development.

In recent years, the physical quality of primary and secondary school students in China has been declining, which may make us pay more attention to the development of students' physical quality and sports skills.
