Beijing University of Chinese Medicine is located in Beijing. It is a national key university with the discipline of traditional Chinese medicine directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It was jointly built by the Ministry of Education, the National Health and Wellness Commission, state administration of traditional chinese medicine and Beijing. It is a national "double-class" university.
Founded in 1956 and formerly known as Beijing College of Chinese Medicine, the school is the earliest approved institution of higher learning of Chinese medicine in the State Council. 1960, the school was identified as a national key university by the central government; 197 1, the school merged with Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine; 1977, separation of the two houses, resumption of independent school running; 1993, the school was renamed Beijing University of Chinese Medicine; /kloc-0 was selected as the "2 1 1 project" national key construction university in 1996; In 2000, the school merged with Beijing Institute of Acupuncture and Orthopaedics to form a new Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.
By March 2022, the school has three campuses, namely Heping Street, Wangjing and Liangxiang, covering an area of 6.5438+0.083 million square meters. There are 13 teaching units and 16 undergraduate majors. 3 directly affiliated hospitals, 4 non-directly affiliated hospitals, 5 non-directly affiliated clinical medical colleges and 8 teaching hospitals; 5 120 faculty members, full-time teachers161person; Full-time students 15 166, including 5683 graduate students and 8894 undergraduate students.
