A letter to Confucius

Dear Mr Confucius,

I am an ordinary student of yours. After a thousand years, I have the courage to write to bother you, not only to pay tribute to you, but also to ask you some questions.

You were born in Lu and traveled in Wang Zizhong. Your disciple is 3,000, full of peaches and plums, rich in knowledge and experience. Your Confucianism advocates "gentleness, kindness, courtesy, frugality and concession". The first four words make me convinced, but the word "concession" makes me dare not compliment. Laozi made the same judgment as you: "I have always had three treasures: one is thrift, the other is thrift, and the third is not daring to compete for the first place in the world." Is it?

I don't think everything should be too absolute. Be a moderate person. Do things according to the environment to determine the standard of life. Don't be opinionated. Fight when you should, show yourself, and don't let go of the excuse.

In real life, it is even more important to "not let" and "fight". Sir, I don't know that today's society is changing with each passing day. Unlike your country and our people's peace, whether it is economic or military, whether it is social culture or people's morality, it can be said that it is changing with each passing day. The local location connection between countries, win-win cooperation and the rapid development of the Internet are amazing. I want to ask, if a country or a nation firmly relies on the property of its ancestors, which is a decisive "concession" to everything, does not participate, does not strive for economic cooperation, and does not develop in competition with other countries, where will history be pushed?

Mr. Confucius, you may not know how the Chinese nation suffered in the19th century. Treaty of nanking and treaty of shimonoseki were unequal treaties before the Qing government, but they are all your good descendants. . . So in a "let" sound, your property was pawned, and many cultural relics are still in the museums of the great powers! However, your children and grandchildren are ready to close their eyes and rest again.

Life is ruined, people are down and out, and this is how to "let" it out.

Sir, I have something exciting to tell you. 1948, the people of China overthrew three mountains and established a powerful new China. From 65438 to 0997, under the argument of Deng Xiaoping, Hong Kong returned to the embrace of the motherland. Two years later, Macao returned to the motherland. When I quietly smell the fragrance of bauhinia and lotus, I understand the true meaning of striving for a strong country.

Looking at the five-star red flag flying over Hong Kong and Macao, I think that the national leaders have led the people of the whole country to adhere to the correct line of the Party and China, and their comprehensive national strength has been rising and their international status has been improving. Can we still keep one of your concessions? What did you say, sir? Please be careful, sir.

Mr. Zhu

Good health, all your wishes come true.

One of your "ignorant" students

A letter to Confucius

Dear Mr. Kong,

Hello!

Have you been busy at work recently? Have a good time? Are you healthy? Is everything all right? !

First of all, the reason why I write this letter to you is to tell you that the "national studies" headed by you can be lively now. CCTV has set up a column "Lecture Room". A university professor, who is still a woman, talks about the Analects of Confucius, so that ordinary people can enjoy it. She wrote a book about The Analects of Confucius, signed it and sold more than 1000 copies a day. Her wrist was swollen and she made a lot of money at once. You say, your Analects of Confucius has been published for so many years, so many languages, so many versions, why has it not been sold well? Since you added a woman's name to The Analects, it's called Yu Dan's The Analects. Why is it so hot? On TV, in newspapers and periodicals, I studied Yu Dan's photos and thought she was not beautiful! Several doctors thought that Yu Dan's The Analects of Confucius was inaccurate, so they jointly attacked her. Stop it. The more you crusade, the angrier Yu Dan gets. Let me tell you that Yu Dan has made a lot of money with you. If you are going to be fired and want to open a bookstore online, if you have no money, just tell Yu Dan and she will definitely give you an interest loan in accordance with state regulations. If one day you enter the Forbes Fortune 500, don't be "heartless for the rich", but engage in the Hope Project to help poor college students. Maybe, with new achievements, you can become the Minister of Education!

Secondly, the reason why I am writing this letter to you is not only to inform you. In fact, now that the Internet is so developed and the world is flat, you must have known this for a long time. After all, it's for myself. I should thank you. I was born in a "scholarly family" and studied Confucianism at an early age according to the requirements of adults. The best proof is that my name is Sheru. Ha ha! When I was at school, I thought that "being an excellent scholar is an official", "There is Yan Ruyu in the book, and there is a golden house in the book" and so on. I can say that I have made progress through hard work; After joining the work, some people became "great scholars" because of their excellent writing skills, which made them feel funny. However, at this time, I always insist on one thing, that is, "I want to stand up and stand up, I want to reach out to people", that is, I must be loyal and honest when dealing with people. When I was transferred from one unit to another, the leader of the former unit commented on me as "I would rather die than die". Haha, a little Jiang; Later, I came to work in Beijing from a small county, became a reporter, and published several books, really like a "scholar". Once an interview with a "big official" told me that my name is good, but maybe it is good to have the word "Confucianism". I remember explaining that I meant to study forever from childhood. I don't know, modesty or ostentation?

Third, your thoughts are also harmful to people. For example, the concept of "monarch, monarch and minister" seems particularly heavy to me. In the original unit, he was a "small official" who always unconditionally obeyed the "big official". He euphemistically said that "individuals obey the organization, subordinates obey the superiors, and the whole party obeys the central government". In fact, the idea of loyalty to the monarch is very serious. When watching TV, playing the emperor and courtiers, you regard yourself as courtiers and "leaders", which is really "bowing your head". In fact, your feudal preaching is harmful in some places! In the new unit, academic discussions are extensive and decision-making is fully democratic. A person is not loyal to anyone, but it is beneficial to society and individuals to defend collective honor and interests and abide by the system. As you often say, "a gentleman saves three days", when things happen, especially when there are contradictions, think about whether you are right or wrong first, and then you are right, but if you go too far, it will be harmful. I seem to suffer more in this respect. Now that I think about it, I should analyze things objectively and treat things objectively. I can't just find fault with myself (this is a weakness), and I don't want to blame others or even indulge them. In business, although "the book has its own gold house", gold is outside the book after all. Several times in business, without success, they all put "righteousness" first, and can't take "profit" according to law. The son said, "Dad, just study with peace of mind. You are not fit for business. " You said, now is a market economy, what should we do?

Fourth, I want to tell you that you don't like it. Whether you are good or not, you are dead. I heard that someone is offering you a high salary now. I think you should take care of yourself. Because now the global economy is integrated and the global culture is diversified, you are just a scholar of Lu, and you have no ability to "show the way". Don't talk about the distance, don't talk about the big ones, just say that Beijing's housing prices are so high now, which wage earners can afford it, what do you think? ! I think it's useless! To tell the truth, people are very smart now, whether they are Yu Dan or a doctor, your benefits will be unforgettable and will be carried forward; You can clearly see your shortcomings, and you must abandon them. The reason why people flock to listen to the Analects of Confucius by Dan is to find a brand-new "Confucius" that integrates ancient and modern times and Chinese and foreign countries, not the original you! You may not like what I said, but if you feel so wronged, you should register the Analects of Confucius as your patented product in the patent office, and those who use it for profit will be charged a certain fee. You can have fun in Confucius.

Don't answer this letter either!

I wish you the best of health!

A letter to Confucius

You certainly wouldn't think that today, thousands of years later, the world still has different opinions about your image. Your idea is still a hot topic for people to talk about.

Thousands of years ago, the Warring States period was an era that allowed open thinking and various academic existence. At that time, a hundred schools of thought contended, which made people envious. Perhaps, your thoughts will only erupt at this moment. You are even luckier. You have been traveling around the world and spreading ideas all your life. Although it has always been "repeated battles and repeated defeats", fortunately, you have always been accompanied by disciples. Yan Hui, Luz and Zhong You have been following you. I think the reason why they never leave you must be your profound thoughts and your unique personality charm. The concept you advocated at that time was "courtesy" and "benevolence", which was a concept needed at that time.

For education at that time, you put forward the view that "education cannot have classes", which is an idea beyond the times. At that time, the aristocrats monopolized education, so that civilians rarely got the right to education. However, you found the problems of this era and put forward the solutions. For politics at that time, you advocated "courtesy" and "benevolence". Maybe you're the only one who has this transcendental idea. What you admire is "ruling the country by virtue", which breaks the traditional feudal thought that "courtesy is no less than Shu Ren".

At that time, you were brave enough to make your own suggestions to the ruling class. Not everyone has the courage. Maybe someone once thought of it, but only you dare to practice it. The source of this courage is probably the enrichment and strength of your inner world. Too many people don't dare to say and do things to realize their dreams. Your profound thoughts are beyond the reach of almost everyone.

For thousands of years, your thoughts will always be evaluated in two ways, one is praise from the ruling class and a few people, and even excessive praise. Another kind of people strongly oppose it.

For the later ruling class, Confucianism established a tool to subdue the people and lost its most essential significance. The idea of emphasizing "harmony" has been completely ignored by the unscrupulous ruling class, and they are all advocating "learning to be an official" and "the people can make a trip; No, let it be known, but it avoids its essential meaning and is taken out of context. Misunderstand the people and obey their own mercy. I really feel unfair for you. This mysterious short sentence has made many ruling classes do whatever they want. The same is true of education. The current textbooks are better, and there is no extreme interpretation. However, the criticism during the Cultural Revolution almost made people in an era have a lingering fear of you and even hate you.

But from a certain point of view, those who strongly oppose your thoughts are essentially criticizing the ruling class and have nothing to do with you. It is only because the ruling class applied your words that it took it out on you. Whether it's the ruling class or anti-Confucianism, they don't know enough about you, so they jump to conclusions.

If you were still alive, it would break your heart to see this, wouldn't it? I think, yes.

A letter to Confucius

Dear Grandpa Kong:

Hello, I am a middle school student in 2 1 century, and I am farther away from you than the Milky Way. You are a great educator, thinker and writer sacred to others, but I know you must be an amiable grandfather. Although you are far away from us, your spirit will remain in our hearts forever. Your thoughts have not faded because of the passage of time, and the "seeds of love" you planted are still thriving in our hearts. The Analects of Confucius, which contains your thoughts, is like a guiding light, which can help us find the right direction in the dark; Just like a cup of fragrant coffee, let us know and taste life before we can feel its sweetness; Like a sharp arrow, let us know the truth that "a good medicine tastes bitter and is good for the disease". Your ideas inspire us and edify us. ...

Grandpa Kong, do you know? In this era where I live, it is an era full of competition, so only by studying hard can I lay the red carpet for my future. But when I was studying, I fished for three days and dried my net for two days, and my grades were a mess. Watching the students "climb higher and higher", I plummeted, and my heart seemed to knock over the five-flavored bottle until the Analects of Confucius came into my life. Grandpa Kong inculcated me like a spring breeze. Your "tacit understanding" when I became "listening to things outside the window and reading only sage books", and your "learning without thinking is useless, thinking without learning is dangerous" made me consciously formulate a good learning method ... Your words and deeds deeply influenced me and inspired what I was looking for.

Grandpa Kong, you are the "Great Sage" in the hearts of the world. Do you know how important your life concept is to today's society? It is because of your generosity that there is a harmonious bond between people today, and your thoughts have deeply educated me.

At that time, the school organized a general cleaning, and a classmate and I were arranged to clean the classroom. Facing the beautiful spring outside, I told that classmate that I was sick and needed her to help me clean up. The classmate agreed without saying anything. I had a good time outside. When I walked into the classroom, I found the teacher reprimanding her. It turned out that she helped me clean up first. I have no time to clean my own area. I don't know why, but a guilty thought made me feel guilty. When Grandpa Kong's sentence "Don't do to others what you don't want others to do to you" came into view, it was like a sword that deeply hurt my heart. Yes, what you don't want to bear, why impose it on others? In that case, what is the difference between me and those selfish little people? Thank you, Grandpa Kong, for giving me a vivid lesson in life, which will be useful for life.

Actually, Grandpa Kong, what did you teach me? "In a threesome, there must be a teacher", which taught me how to choose friends. "A clear conscience" allows me to overcome more problems and learn from them by going up a flight of stairs. "The beauty of a gentleman as an adult is not the evil of an adult" has taught me how to be a gentleman ... Grandpa Kong, your shining thoughts have lit up the broad road for your descendants and guided their daily lives. Your words and phrases are the classroom of our life. Grandpa Kong, you must be very happy to see this.

I am here to convey

welcome
