What makes us tired —— A research report on the stress of employees in state-owned enterprises in China.
On the one hand, China's reform and opening up has brought brand-new development opportunities to the whole society; On the other hand, these changes have also brought uncertainty to employees of enterprises, especially state-owned enterprises, and brought great challenges to their ability to withstand pressure. So, what stressors do employees of state-owned enterprises often face? What are the thinking methods and specific measures to solve the stress problem? With these questions, the author conducted a survey of nearly 100 employees of state-owned enterprises and obtained the following findings. The stressors faced by employees of state-owned enterprises can be divided into five categories: stressors from society, enterprises, work, family and working environment. Among them, the pressure sources from society are all related to reform and opening up, and these pressure sources are uncertain. The stressors from enterprises mainly include: job security, fairness of enterprise management mechanism and interpersonal environment within enterprises. The stressors from one's own work include: heavy workload, monotonous or complicated work, tight time, heavy responsibility, no right to participate in decision-making management, and easy accidents. Different from the model that white-collar workers are healthier than blue-collar workers often reflected in western literature, the psychological and physical health indicators of white-collar workers in state-owned enterprises in China are not better than those of blue-collar workers in the same enterprises. In terms of family, middle-aged workers generally think that children's employment and education are two important stressors, which is obviously a phenomenon with China characteristics. The unique anti-pressure mechanism and means of state-owned enterprises. The perfection of enterprise system is the guarantee to reduce the pressure on employees, such as a relatively perfect retirement security system. The fairness of enterprise system is another important decompression factor, especially the fairness of performance appraisal and reward system. Ways for enterprises to help employees reduce stress 1. Work redesign. Including the rich work content and the flexible design of working time and place. Too complicated jobs (such as senior supervisor positions) and too simple jobs (such as assembly line production) are stressful jobs. Job enrichment liberates employees from a kind of passive labor that is not creative and attached to machines, and allows them to engage in more meaningful work that can give full play to their potential. Work sharing system, flexible working hours system and telecommuting are the main forms of flexible working hours and place design. 2. Strengthen the support system and stress management mechanism of enterprises. On the one hand, we should hire professionals to enrich the human resources department of enterprises, on the other hand, we should set up specific policies to protect the personal data of employees' mental health and teach employees to treat psychological and mental diseases correctly. 3. Strengthen the training of employees. Provide adequate on-the-job training to improve the skills of employees; At the same time, set up some training programs in stress management. Every employee should have a general understanding of his personality and stress management ability, especially the fit between his personality characteristics and work characteristics and the impact on health. 2. Maintain a balanced mental state. A more peaceful attitude and a more tolerant attitude are conducive to mental health. 3. Learn how to control stressors and manage stress. Actively learn anti-pressure skills and knowledge; Seek help and support when you feel confused, depressed and other psychological symptoms; Try to improve your resistance and adaptability to uncertain factors.
