Foreword:
With the continuous development of social economy, health education in primary and secondary schools has increasingly become the focus of education in China. Paying attention to mental health education in primary and secondary schools is conducive to strengthening the improvement of psychological quality and personality of primary and secondary school students, so as to realize their all-round development in morality, intelligence, physique and aesthetics. However, with the development of mental health education in primary and secondary schools, some problems have emerged. How to put forward reasonable solutions to the problems existing in mental health education in primary and secondary schools has become an urgent task of contemporary education.
1 Current situation of mental health education and teaching for primary and secondary school students
1. 1 did not fully realize the importance of mental health education and psychological counseling.
This situation will lead to unbalanced development of primary and secondary schools. Some schools do not carry out mental health education in depth, just to cope with the assessment of higher authorities, and do not arrange professional teachers as psychological counseling teachers. It is difficult for students' mental health education to develop normally, which will have a negative impact on the development of school mental health education. Some schools also regard psychological counseling as an agency for some students with mental disorders, and regard mental health education as similar to general health knowledge learning. They did not create the necessary conditions for the psychological counseling center, and did not make the necessary investment in organization and management, personnel arrangement and funds, which was far from the requirements of the Ministry of Education for mental health education.
1.2 The mental health education courses offered by many schools are not ideal.
Preventive education and the improvement of psychological quality are the core of mental health education in primary and secondary schools. Classroom is the main channel of psychological consultation, but the actual situation of developing mental health education courses in many primary and secondary schools is not ideal. First, the academic affairs offices of some schools regard the curriculum as a reason and cannot take the initiative to bring psychological education courses into the teaching management system; Second, the similar courses offered in some primary and secondary schools are basically out of touch. Many people offer courses or lectures alone, lacking coordination, or just teaching some personal preference psychological adjustment methods in the classroom, without systematic and scientific mental health education. Even the mental health education courses in primary and secondary schools adopt the teaching mode of curriculum, adult and knowledge. Many primary and secondary schools adopt a simple and blunt way of preaching, mechanically copying the professional knowledge of psychology, making mental health education and teaching a subject mainly teaching psychological knowledge, requiring students to recite the definitions of many nouns and setting training objectives and tasks for different grades, which is not only detrimental to the development of students' mental health, but also invisibly increases their psychological burden.
1.3 psychological counseling in primary and secondary schools generally does not have good working conditions.
Psychological counseling is different from the regular teaching activities in primary and secondary schools and has different requirements for the working environment. However, the working conditions of psychological counseling in primary and secondary schools are still relatively simple, the office can not meet the required area, and the facilities are insufficient, which needs to be improved as soon as possible. Some primary and secondary schools' psychological counseling rooms are short of space or co-located with other offices, which does not meet the principles and requirements of psychological counseling. Psychological counseling is not equipped with full-time staff, lack of funds, and irregular duty time is also very common.
1.4 professionals are not equipped, and the professional quality of existing psychological counselors is not high.
At present, teachers engaged in mental health education in primary and secondary schools rarely come from ordinary classes, and many of them are class teachers or political teachers. Due to the lack of professional mental health education and training, the ability to use psychological professional knowledge to guide primary and secondary school students in their work is generally insufficient.
Mental health education and psychological counseling are highly technical and professional, with different methods, principles and skills, which are very different from traditional ideological and political work. Therefore, the professional quality of psychological counselors in primary and secondary schools is required. If we only rely on personal enthusiasm and lack scientific spirit, or engage in psychological counseling because of work needs, it will inevitably affect the effect of psychological counseling for students, and even take improper measures to lead to more serious consequences.
1.5 schools give priority to counseling, and pay insufficient attention to the cooperation between family and society.
Primary and secondary education has always been more or less closed to education, especially mental health education. Although psychological counseling for primary and secondary school students has made outstanding achievements in some areas, many exquisite education still stays in classrooms and mental health activities, and experts are invited to give lectures at most, mainly to improve the reputation of primary and secondary schools, which is far from achieving the important role of mental health education. Because primary and middle school students spend most of their time in family and society, it can be said that mental health education without family support and social cooperation is incomplete and the educational effect is not obvious.
