On the Experience of Mental Health Education

I was fortunate enough to participate in the second phase of the qualification training for teachers of mental health education in rural primary and secondary schools organized by Longwan District, and felt very rewarding. Through these five days of study and training, I have improved my understanding of mental health courses and deeply understood the purpose and tasks of mental health courses. Last Friday afternoon, I listened to two teachers' psychological activity classes in the experimental primary school, which made me further realize the importance of offering mental health education classes in the school.

Good psychological quality is an important part of people's all-round quality and a very important content of talents' quality in the future. School mental health education is the best way to cultivate students' healthy psychology and perfect their personality, and it is the symbol of modern schools. The most effective prescription of mental health education is love. Teachers' love for students is a collection of love, which should include the selflessness of mothers' love for children, the strictness and kindness of fathers' love for sons, the loyalty of soldiers' love for the motherland, the generosity of brothers' love for younger brothers, the gentleness and thoughtfulness of sisters' love for sisters, and the persistence and obsession of philosophers' love for truth. Loving students is the cornerstone of the class teacher's work art.

First, use love to promote students' mental health development

Pedagogy tells us that self-awareness is a sign of personality formation level and an important factor to promote personality development, which is mainly manifested in the understanding of interpersonal relationships in oneself and the surrounding environment. In class management, once students make mistakes, I usually take the method of praising first and then criticizing. When we watch TV, we can often see such a scene. Retreat before fierce animals such as tigers attack. Why retreat? It is for a better attack! When criticizing a student's shortcomings, we might as well praise his merits first. Every student has his own advantages. As a class teacher, we should be good at capturing the bright spot of each student, amplifying the advantages of the student, sincerely praising him, and then pointing out his shortcomings. I find that students are willing to accept criticism.

Second, be good at finding problems and patiently inducing them.

At the first parent-teacher meeting of the class, I found that most children in the class had problems getting along with their parents. They are unwilling to communicate with their parents, who treat them in a dictatorial or submissive way. So I used the time of the class meeting to hold a class meeting with the theme of "grateful heart" to let the children feel the love of their parents. I will strike while the iron is hot. After school, I'm going to ask the children to write a letter to their parents and tell them to express their heartfelt thanks for their love. The feedback was so good that some parents were even moved to tears after reading the letter. I think that as long as children and parents open their hearts to each other, they will become good friends who talk about everything, which will also promote the healthy development of students' psychology.

Third, let "diary" become a bridge between teachers and students.

I think keeping a diary is a good way for me to get to know my students. Usually, my classmates write 2-3 diaries a week, mainly about what they want to say most. From their diaries, I can find out what kind of children they are and what difficulties they need our help. When they explain their troubles in their diaries, I will comfort him in the right way under her diary and guide him out of trouble. When they write happy things, I will write some happy words with him and thank him for bringing me happiness. Of course, we have a wide range of topics, such as school, family and society. Under the matchmaking of diaries, we became good friends, and in the process, their mental health indicators were also invisibly improved.

Sharing each other's diaries has become a habit for me and my children. I get to know each child better and better in their diaries, and they are also under some pressure because they want to show me their diaries. Every diary cannot be fooled. Until now, the Chinese teacher told me that their writing level has made great progress!
