English composition on environment and health

Protecting the environment In the past, human beings did not have to think about protecting the environment. The earth is sparsely populated, and natural resources seem infinite. Things are different today. The world has become too crowded. We are exhausting our natural resources and polluting our environment with dangerous chemicals. If we continue to do this, human beings on earth will not survive. We realize that if we catch too many fish from the ocean, there will be no fish soon. However, with modern fishing methods, more and more fish are caught. We know that if too many trees are cut down, forests will disappear. However, we continue to use powerful machines to cut down more and more trees. We see that if rivers are polluted by waste, we will die. However, waste products are still thrown into rivers. We know that if the population continues to grow at the current rate, there will not be enough food in a few years. What can we do to solve these problems? If we eat more vegetables and less meat, there will be more food. The land where crops are planted supports five times as many people as the land where animals are raised. If we learn to recycle, our natural resources will last longer. If people used modern birth control methods, the world population would not grow so fast. Finally, if we educate people to think about these problems, we will have a better and cleaner planet in the future.
