Healthy dogs don't spread rabies virus.
Whether healthy dogs can spread rabies has been debated internationally for at least 50 years. In the past 10 years, some researchers in China have detected or isolated rabies virus in the brain tissue of apparently healthy dogs. They also believe that healthy dogs can spread rabies virus and have a great impact on people injured by dogs. In 2004, the World Health Organization released the technical report of rabies expert consultation meeting, saying that "dogs or cats that hurt people can stop preventive and therapeutic measures after exposure as long as they remain healthy for at least 10 days". Studies abroad show that rabies virus can be detected in dog saliva three days before the clinical symptoms of rabies appear; 75% dogs survived for 4 days after rabies, and all dogs with rabies died within 65,438+00 days of clinical symptoms. Therefore, after being bitten by a dog, you should go to the dog injury clinic in time for correct prevention and treatment after exposure. However, if the attacked dogs are still healthy and normal after exposure to 10, it can be considered that the probability of human infection with rabies virus is almost zero.
