"Why is my blood pressure getting worse?" What problems should I pay attention to when measuring blood pressure?

Although hypertension has no obvious symptoms and signs, it is one of the common causes of death and disability, and it is a veritable "health killer". Starting from 20 13, the theme of world hypertension day has been "know your blood pressure" for five consecutive years, calling on everyone to take blood pressure. Measuring blood pressure seems simple, but there are actually many doorways. What problems should I pay attention to when measuring blood pressure?

1. Don't sit down and test.

From standing to sitting, posture changes can also cause blood pressure fluctuations, so after sitting in a chair with a backrest for at least 5 minutes, start measuring blood pressure. When measuring, put the upper arm of the cuff on the table, at the same height as the heart, relax your legs and land.

2. Time to measure blood pressure

For newly diagnosed patients with hypertension and blood pressure not up to standard, test 1 time every morning and evening. It is best to get up in the morning to urinate, and measure continuously for 7 days before taking medicine and before going to bed at night, and take the average blood pressure of the last 6 days as a reference value. For a few people who can't measure continuously for 7 days, measure continuously for at least 3 days, and the average blood pressure for the next 2 days will be used as the evaluation basis. For hypertensive patients whose blood pressure is up to standard and stable, they can be tested 1 day every week, 1 time in the morning and evening.

Step 3 Measure the frequency

Healthy people only need to take blood pressure 1~2 times a year, and people over 35 should take blood pressure regularly; Patients with newly diagnosed hypertension, patients who are adjusting drugs, or patients whose blood pressure fluctuates greatly, should have their blood pressure measured once every morning and evening for 5~7 days, which can provide basis for doctors to adjust their plans. Patients with stable blood pressure control only need to measure their blood pressure in the morning and evening of one day a week; When dizziness, headache and other discomfort occur, it is suggested to increase the number of measurements to know whether it is caused by high blood pressure or low blood pressure.

4. Location of airbag

When measuring blood pressure, the upper arm position should be flush with the right atrium. If the upper arm position is lower than the right atrium level, the measured value is higher; Conversely, if the upper arm is higher than the heart level, the measured value is lower. Every 2.5 cm above or below the heart level, the blood pressure difference is 2 mm Hg. When sitting, the right atrium is located in the middle of the sternum and at the level of the fourth rib; When lying flat, support with a small pillow so that the upper arm is at the same height as the armpit midline.
