Why don't universities attach importance to students' mental health?

I think it's not so much that I don't pay attention to it as that I don't pay much attention to learning. I am a freshman now. In the first year of college, I feel that the university campus pays less attention to students' psychological problems and pays more attention to the study of professional knowledge than psychological courses. The so-called university does not attach importance to students' mental health problems because there are often some cases of mental illness in universities. Those who are either jealous of murdering their roommates or missing because of depression ... are all shocking problems to society. "Why don't universities pay attention to students' mental health education and let them go to extremes" has therefore become a problem that major media are scrambling to report.

However, people often ignore that mental health is a long-term thing, and even four years of college is not enough to become a mental illness. It is either innate or a shadow of a certain stage in the growth process, which may have existed in previous middle schools or even primary schools, but it has been hidden until the university broke out. We should see that during the growth of teenagers, social environment, family factors and a series of factors that can have a significant impact on their own minds are all responsible for students' mental health. In fact, mental health problems need to be educated from an early age. Primary and secondary schools have been guided by this course all the way to the university, so that students will not be confused or sick about their cognition.

Take my school as an example, there is no neglect of mental health education. Although it is impossible to upgrade to a course with the same professional knowledge, I still don't forget to complete such health guidance in other forms, such as offering related general courses and psychological lectures. Many universities are like this. Some universities have psychology majors, just to let more people interested in this field join them and inject fresh blood into a healthy society.
