Brief introduction of Ciyun Temple in Chongqing
Ciyun Temple was founded in the Tang Dynasty and later renamed as Ciyun Temple. Its architectural style is a combination of Chinese and western. It was once the only temple in China where monks and nuns lived together. A Buddha statue of Sakyamuni is enshrined in the Hall of Ursa Major, which is187cm high and weighs1500kg.
