What tricks can parents quickly judge the defecation of newborns after mastering them?

Around us, many novice mothers, like Pingping, have all kinds of anxiety in the process of taking care of their babies because of their inexperience. Many parents know that baby defecation is a barometer of baby health. So, how to judge whether the neonatal defecation is normal?

Today, I will talk about baby poop in four stages, hoping to give novice parents a reassurance that they will not be so anxious when facing baby poop.

1. The baby has just been born

Defecation and defecation: Newborns generally defecate within 24 hours after birth, and the fetus is dark black, green or black sticky paste, which is the stool formed by the baby swallowing fetal hair, fetal fat and intestinal secretions in amniotic fluid in the mother's womb, and can be discharged in 3~4 days. After the baby eats milk, the stool gradually turns yellow. Babies who eat milk powder defecate 2~3 times a day, and babies who eat breast milk defecate a little more, 4~ 5 times a day.

Urine volume: The urine volume of newborns on the first day is relatively small, and most babies urinate within 24 hours after birth.

Love tips:

After the baby is born, it will discharge green, black, smooth and sticky meconium. In the future, babies who are breastfed normally will excrete yellowish feces. Baby's feces are generally mushy or thicker than ice cream and have no smell. Breast-fed babies seldom have constipation, almost everything can be absorbed, and there is little waste.

2. The baby is born 15 days.

Stool situation: After two weeks of birth, the frequency of defecation is about 4~ 8 times a day. As the baby grows up, the colon volume will increase and the corresponding stool frequency will decrease.

Urine volume: With the intake of water by breast-feeding, the urine volume gradually increases, reaching more than 10 times a day, and the total amount can reach 100 ~ 300ml.

Love tips:

Babies who drink formula milk powder generally defecate less frequently, while babies who breastfeed defecate more often, sometimes up to 8 times a day. This is because the molecules of breast milk are smaller and easier for babies to digest and absorb.

The baby was born 28 days ago.

Generally, breast-fed babies defecate about 3~ 5 times a day, while formula-fed babies defecate about 1~3 times. Every baby has a different frequency of defecation. As long as the baby's body develops normally and there are no milk flaps and bubbles in the stool, it is normal.

Urine volume: around the full moon, the baby urinates about 10 times a day, which can reach about 250~ 400 ml.

Love tips:

Eating different foods will lead to different feces. The feces of babies who eat breast milk are egg-yellow and slightly sour, which is more than that of babies who eat formula milk powder. Infants who eat formula milk powder have less water in their feces, and most of them are dark yellow or green compared with infants who eat breast milk.

4. The baby is 42 days old.

Usually 2-5 times a day, the baby may be constipated at this stage, especially the artificially fed baby. The baby urinates about 8~ 10 times a day, which can reach about 300-500 ml.

Love tips:

Because the ratio of breast milk to milk powder is different, the consistency, color and smell of baby feces eating breast milk and formula milk are different. Babies who eat a lot of breast milk will have yellow and thin feces, while babies who eat a lot of milk powder will have particles mixed in their feces and defecate 4-5 times a day.
