1. Drinking hot water is almost engraved in the DNA of China people. It is no exaggeration to say that even foreigners know that people in China like to drink hot water. In fact, a long time ago, cold water was considered harmful to health. As early as before the emergence of modern medicine, people have found that after drinking boiled water, the frequency of illness and diarrhea is obviously reduced. At that time, people knew nothing about the existence of microorganisms, only that boiling water could prevent diseases.
2. Until 1952, the "Patriotic Health Campaign" set off a frenzy of "changing serious infectious diseases and unsanitary environment" throughout the country, in which Article 12 of the Convention on Epidemic Prevention stipulated: Do not eat raw food. Since then, people have shouted slogans such as "Don't drink cold water and boiled water" and "Don't drink boiled water". Therefore, when the western germ theory was introduced into China and the scientific knowledge circle verified that boiled water can effectively sterilize, people's habit of drinking hot water has spread to the present in order to ensure their own health.
3. The human body has a complete temperature regulation system, which can effectively control the process of heat generation and heat dissipation, so that the human body temperature is always maintained at around 37℃. Hypothalamus, as the body's thermoregulatory center, will guide the body to respond immediately once it receives the signal of temperature change. This temperature regulation system will not be different because of drinking ice water.

As early as 100 years ago, some researchers had done experiments to let participants drink water with different temperatures and measure the temperature of their gastric juice within 5 minutes. The gastric juice temperature of drinking ice water is only about 2℃ lower than the body temperature, and the temperature in the stomach changes within 0.3℃. In other words, if you drink ice water, it will soon become water close to body temperature, and the temperature change of the whole stomach and gastric juice is very small.
There is no evidence that drinking ice water is harmful to health. The key to water health is not temperature, but hygiene.
Drinking enough water is the basic guarantee of good health. Whether it is hot or cold, there is no absolute answer. In hot summer, whether drinking hot water or ice water, the most important thing is to ensure good health. Only by ensuring the safety of water quality can we safely drink.
