What are the risk factors for stroke?

There are eight risk factors for stroke: hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hyperglycemia, atrial fibrillation, smoking, alcoholism, low exercise and obesity. If the three risk factors are met at the same time, then it can be judged as a high-risk group of stroke. Experts suggest that high-risk groups should go to a doctor for basic examination.

Research evidence shows that more than 80% of strokes can be prevented early by controlling risk factors. Experts pointed out that the prevention of stroke is divided into two levels: primary prevention and secondary prevention.

In addition to healthy living habits, experts point out that once a stroke occurs, the risk of recurrence is also high, so secondary prevention of stroke is needed.

Experts pointed out that the main manifestations of stroke can be judged by the following phenomena.

Suddenly one side of the mouth drools, unable to speak or speaks vaguely;

One side of the arm and leg (left or right) is suddenly weak (unable to lift, walk or stand, unstable to hold things);

Sudden numbness or unconsciousness on one side of the face;

Sudden dizziness, blurred vision or diplopia;

Sudden severe headache;

Suddenly lost consciousness.
