Is sugar harmful to our health?

Like anything else, sugar can be eaten reasonably and safely.

Refined sucrose may not be as good as unrefined brown sugar or palm sugar.

Other natural sweeteners (such as honey, maple syrup or palm sugar) have similar calorie content to sucrose, although their relative "sweetness" may be different. When used in moderation, sucrose is as beneficial to health as other natural sweeteners.

Adding sugar is mainly to improve the taste and quickly replenish energy. Sugar has little to do with nutrition. You can live safely for several years without consuming any sugar. Therefore, sugar is not a necessary food for human life.

Diabetes is the result of insufficient secretion or ineffective use of a hormone called insulin. If this person has diabetes, the body will not be able to metabolize carbohydrates successfully.
