To understand the significance of the Lend-Lease Act, one must first understand what the Lend-Lease Act is. This act was born out of World War II, and as the war progressed, the United States provided military equipment, ranging from small arms to large tanks, i.e., military and food supplies, to the various countries involved in the war, on the condition that their own countries would not be involved in the war. Although there was no provision in the bill that it could not be provided by Germany, Italy and Japan, in fact not a single piece of material was provided to Germany, Italy and Japan after the passage of the bill.
Of course this bill was free at times, such as some ships, which were returned to the US after the war. Of course the US would also get Lend-Lease rights to some bases on the territory of the Allied countries, i.e. both naval and land. Some of the aid in Lend-Lease was paid for, whether paid or unpaid. Without Lend-Lease, the Allies would not have won the Second World War against fascism.
The original position of Lend-Lease was to help Britain. This was because Britain was cash-strapped and could no longer afford to spend money on U.S. military supplies at a time when it was at war with Italy and Germany. Out of sympathy and help for Britain, the U.S. enacted this Lend-Lease Act. Later, China and the Soviet Union were added to the Lend-Lease program. At that time, Britain got a quarter of its weapons through Lend-Lease, as well as airplanes, foodstuffs, ships, and so on.
In the case of the USSR, railroads in the USSR had been severely damaged by the war, so about 90% of the railroad equipment was provided through Lend-Lease. Also there were some heavy weapons like tanks, airplanes that were acquired through the act.
For our country the Lend-Lease Act provided transportation equipment, arms, all kinds of heavy weapons, machine guns, artillery, and so on. There are also various medical supplies and instruments.
It can be said that because the Lend-Lease Act for the Second World War with Germany, Italy and Japan countries fighting to provide strong support for the countries to achieve the final victory.
