Alfred Bernhard Nobel, Swedish chemist, engineer, inventor, manufacturer of military equipment and inventor of dynamite, was born on October 21, 1833 in Stockholm and died on December 10, 1896 in Stockholm.
In 1841, Nobel entered the local Jordai Elementary School, the only school in his life where he received a formal education. Noble had minimal class attendance due to illness. But at school, he studied hard, so his grades were often among the highest.
In 1850, at the age of 17, Nobel traveled across the ocean to the United States in the name of an engineer, and interned at the famous Allison Engineer's Workshop. After the internship, he went to Europe and the United States for four years before returning home. During the study tour, he started working immediately at every place he visited and gained a deeper understanding of the industrial development of each country.
In 1884, he was recommended as a member of the Royal Society of London, the Paris Technical Society, and the Royal Swedish Scientific Society.
In 1887, he obtained a patent for gunpowder for ejected shells.
In 1890, persecuted by the French, he left Paris, where he had lived for eighteen years, and moved to San Lemo, Italy, where he founded the Institute. For the next six years he worked on a wide variety of new inventions in the chemical, mechanical, electrical, and medical fields.
Expanded Information
Nobel patented as many as 355 inventions in the UK alone during his lifetime.
In addition to explosives, Nobel had theoretical and practical achievements in the use of nitroglycerine fuses, silent guns, hardening of metals, welding, fusion, and stabilization of bullets, the extreme safety of undersea equipment using gas, and rockets for rescuing shipwrecks.
He created experimental research in artificial rubber, artificial leather and the manufacture of real lacquer or dyes based on nitrocellulose, and artificial gemstones.
In March 2015, the Nobel Museum in Sweden displayed the manuscript of inventor Alfred Nobel's will, the first time this manuscript has been shown to the public.
Nobel had 355 patented inventions in his lifetime, and had amassed a huge fortune by opening about 100 companies and factories in 20 countries on five continents, including Europe and the United States. The Nobel Prize is awarded to people from all over the world who have made significant contributions to humanity in these fields.
