Unity will utilize Microsoft's Azure cloud computing service to bring its Create Solutions to the cloud and develop its cloud infrastructure to better meet the needs of users who build and manipulate Real-Time 3D (RT3D) experiences from the Unity engine. Unity already offers a number of cloud-driven tools and services, including Unity Game Services, Parsec, DevOps, Wētā Digital, Digital Twins, and more. Many of the company's tools are also already heavily utilized in cloud workflows, from PIXYZ to Unity Headless Rendering, and according to the company, more of Unity's tools will be moving to support cloud computing through new partnerships.

Some of these tools will include Unity's Wētā Digital and other artistic tools like Ziva. By bringing these tools to Microsoft Azure, which the company sees as a major cloud initiative, Unity is aiming to popularize access to advanced machine learning and procedural creation tools for games, media, and film, as well as many other use cases. The company added that it sees a future world where users can quickly access their project files regardless of which computer they are editing on.

In addition to games, many uses of RT3D in Digital Twins require access to models, point clouds, and other data that is not even suitable for the highest-end local devices, and Unity sees the need to make it easy for users to create, ****enjoy, visualize, manage, and collaborate on rich digital twins via the cloud.
