Are all the ICs on the display bound?

Not all display IC's are bound, but they are divided into bound and unbound.

Binding IC means that the LCD screen is programmed and encrypted by the monitor manufacturer, and these programming information is bound with the serial number of the screen hardware to prevent plagiarism and confidentiality from the hardware level. So if the purchased screen is bound, the IC on the screen can only be used on a specific device. If other devices are replaced, the IC will not work normally.

Unbound IC is a conventional chip, which does not involve information programming, encryption and other operations. It can be used by multiple devices, and can also be replaced with the same type of IC in the case of replacement of parts such as maintenance.

It should be noted that when purchasing a screen, you need to choose the appropriate IC type according to actual needs. If it is necessary to protect the security of displayed information, it may be an option to choose binding IC for reinforcement. However, if it needs to be repaired, maintained or upgraded later, then choosing unbound IC can be more flexible to adapt to various needs and situations.
