New upgrade of vehicle loading braking standard

The new standard GB38900-2020 clearly requires for the first time that the brake detection items and methods of automobile trains composed of parallel double-axle or parallel three-axle trailers are more demanding. The specific requirements are as follows.

For trucks with three or more axles, and double-axle or double-axle trailers with a total mass of more than 3500kg, the loading axle braking rate and loading braking imbalance rate of some axles (except the last axle and the first axle of the truck) should also be tested. For vehicles with air suspension, for vehicles with total mass less than 1.2 times of kerb mass, the braking rate of loading shaft and the braking imbalance rate of loading shaft are not tested.

The parking brakes of cars equipped with electronic controls should not be tested.

Change:

1. The range of trailers has been reduced from all models to "two-axle or three-axle trailers with a total mass of 3500 kg or more."

2. Vehicles equipped with air suspension do not detect load braking.

3. Vehicles with total mass less than 1.2 times the kerb mass shall not be subjected to load braking test.

4. Electronic handbrake vehicles do not detect parking brake.
