Wear RGP for the first time, pay attention. First of all, the upper and lower eyelids (eyelids) should be completely opened to expose the whole cornea, and the eyes should look straight ahead. If you are in front of the mirror, you can stare at your eyes, which can ensure that your eyes will not turn.
Secondly, many people close their other eyes when they wear them for the first time. In fact, this is very inappropriate, because both eyes work in coordination, and this state can only be maintained until both eyes look straight ahead;
Third, after RGP is put into your eyes, first loosen the upper eyelid, then loosen the lower eyelid, and finally blink. Never blink when the eyelids are open, which will easily lead to lens deviation;
When you put on RGP for the first time, you will have a strong sense of foreign body and tears will flow unconsciously. This is normal. If you are really uncomfortable, you can look at your knees to reduce foreign body sensation. After about half an hour, this strong foreign body feeling will gradually disappear. Therefore, RGP needs to be worn step by step, and the average person can wear it all day after one week.
Problems easy to occur when wearing RGP for the first time: Most of the itchy eyes after wearing RGP are caused by the lens rubbing your eyelids. Generally, it is intermittent, and there is no obvious increase in secretions. This feeling is actually like a little thing rubbing the skin on the back of the hand. If you go to the doctor for a week and there is no inflammation, you can wear it with confidence and get better after a while.
Lens deviation: especially in the first week of wearing RGP, it may happen several times, mainly in the following situations: at the beginning of wearing, because of fear, the eyes did not look forward, resulting in lens deviation after wearing; Turn your eyes too fast, because the lenses may not be fully adapted at the beginning of wearing RGP, and there will be some instability. The eyeball rotates too fast, and the lens does not keep up in time, resulting in lens deviation; When the hand touches the eyelid, the lens may deviate, because when the hand touches the eyelid, the eyeball will turn and blink unconsciously, and the first lens will not follow the cornea because of instability, resulting in deviation.
First of all, don't be afraid when the lens deviates, and don't worry that the lens will run behind or inside the eyeball. First look at the mirror carefully or feel its position with your fingers, and then reset it by certain means. If you can't reset or haven't learned it, take it out with a suction stick. Lens deviation is a problem in the early adaptation period of lenses, which does not actually happen many times.
Unstable eyesight: This is also normal. Sometimes you will find that everything is foggy, or it feels like seeing something in the water. This is mainly due to the stimulation of the lens, and the lacrimal gland secretes tears, which will get better after a while.
Red eye: The normal first-time wearer will have red eye when wearing the lens for the first time, which is mainly caused by repeated stimulation of the conjunctiva and eyelids when wearing the lens, and will disappear after about 10 minutes. Some people will be jealous in the afternoon or evening. At this time, we should pay attention to whether there are inflammatory manifestations such as itchy eyes and increased secretions. If not, it may be caused by dry eyes and unsuitable lenses. Dry eye is caused by dry air conditioning environment and reduced self-blinking, which can be improved by dropping artificial tears; Or because the lens is not suitable, take it off first and slowly extend the wearing time the next day.
