Grading rules and test-taking skills
(1) Test of flat-syllable words (10 marks)
Purpose: To test the pronunciation of consonants, rhymes and tones.
Scoring rules: This content score *** 10 points. Each mispronunciation of a sound, rhyme or tone deducted 0.1 points, 0.05 points for each word with defective pronunciation.
If a test taker makes a mistake, he or she can change his or her pronunciation once.
Definition of errors and defects:
(1) Errors: reading one consonant, rhyme or tone as another, or reading according to the dialect.
For example: consonant errors: such as reading Z C S as ZH CH SH or ZH CH SH as Z C S. Rhyming errors: e.g. reading O as e (播bo-be), reading ing eng as ong (影ying-yong), and so on. Tonal errors: Mandarin has four tones, and it is a mistake for a test taker to retain the tonal patterns of the dialect tones.
(2), defects: refers to the syllable pronunciation of one or more syllables in the transition state from dialect to Mandarin. (i.e., not pronounced as another, but the part of pronunciation is inaccurate)
Vocalic defects: for example, the back of the tongue zh, ch, sh, not pronounced as the front of the tongue z, c, s, but the part of the pronunciation is too far ahead of the sound, the auditory sense and the sound value of the Mandarin vowels have a big difference. The lingual consonants j, q, x are pronounced too close to z, c, s, with friction at the tip of the tongue. For example, around Penglai, Weihai, and Wendeng: Jing (spirit), (have) interest, and Xiang (appearance).
Rhyme defects: e.g. the tongue movement of compound rhymes is clearly insufficient and does not reflect the sliding process. (That is, the process of gradual change of tongue position and lip shape of vowels in the process of compounding is insufficient, omitting part of the pronunciation change.) 如 棉袄(-ao-[ ])要(-iao-[ ])
Tone Defects: can basically pronounce the tonal patterns of the four tones of Mandarin, but the tonal patterns are not in place, obviously low or high, and cannot pronounce the tonal contrasts of the ordinary high and low elevations in an obvious way. (According to the rules of the test, a total loss of 1 point for single-byte words means that you cannot enter Level 1.)
(ii). Test of two-syllable words (20 points)
1. Purpose: To test the candidate's pronunciation of sounds, rhymes and tones, and the mastery of sound changes such as lilt, paedo, and prosody.
2. Scoring rules: each mispronunciation of a syllable of the sound, rhyme, tone deducted 0.2 points, the pronunciation of obvious defects deducted 0.1 points each time. (The total loss of points in this content score up to 2 points, can not enter the first level.) Errors and defects in two-syllable words are defined in the same way as monosyllabic words.
3. About soft voice, pediatricization and change of tone:
(1) Soft voice: In a certain language environment. Some syllables lose their original tone and become a kind of light and short tone, which is the soft sound. The soft voice is a sound change phenomenon produced when music is read in succession.

G. The second syllable of an overlapping word and the second and fourth syllables of an overlapping verb. Examples: look, dad, discuss discuss discuss.
(2) Paederization: In Mandarin, er, the curly vowel, can be combined with other rhymes to form curly rhymes, and this phenomenon is called paederization. The er in the child rhyme is not pronounced as er, but only in the vowel of the preceding rhyme to add a rolled tongue action, so that the rhyme with the rolled tongue sound. Example: flower - huar song - ger (In general, words that have the character "er" in them can be paediatricized. Monosyllabic words do not have pediatricization)
Modulation: When syllables are sounded consecutively, the tonal value of some syllables will change, which is called modulation.
A: Variation of the tone of the upper voice:
The two upper are connected, and the previous upper becomes yangping: very good, native.
Three upper tones are connected, and the first two upper tones become Yangping: Speech
Three or more upper tones are connected, first divided into two- or three-word stanzas, and then changed in tone as above: "Please buy me five paper umbrellas."
Upper tones change to semi-upper before the non-upper tones: northern, reading
Upper tones change to semi-upper before the soft syllables. B: Variation of "one":
When pronounced alone, or at the end of a sentence, as an ordinal or cardinal number, or when followed by another number word, it is pronounced in the home key: one, first
