On March 3rd, 2003, KLOC-0, Marketing Class 093, with the organization of the Youth League Branch and the assistance of the dormitory director, came to various intersections of Xiasha Xueyuan Street to carry out traffic volunteer activities, maintain traffic order and experience the fun of the coordinator. So before the activity began, the six of us were responsible for assigning personnel at each intersection to perform their respective tasks in their respective posts, that is, assisting bicycles and pedestrians to run red lights. At first, everyone was a little embarrassed to reach out and maintain order, but gradually, the students took bold actions one by one and entered the role one by one. Volunteers go to work at 7: 20 am and 5: 00 pm on weekdays. During this period, we felt what hardship was. Not to mention the sun exposure, but also the exhaust gas emitted by cars. Sometimes I think to myself, why would someone run a red light regardless of the consequences? Are they really those people who have no quality? In fact, with the rapid development of economy, people become rich, and more and more people own private cars, which leads to a sharp increase in traffic volume. Therefore, in order to get to the destination quickly, people will risk running a red light. Through these, I find it difficult to maintain traffic order, and there are the following problems:
First, urban planning is unreasonable.
The urban distribution is unreasonable, the business in the downtown is too concentrated, some shops even occupy the road during holidays, and all kinds of vehicles are parked on both sides of the secondary roads privately, which reduces the traffic capacity and weakens the road function.
Two, the urban street function planning is unknown, or the urban management is not enough, resulting in traffic chaos. For example, Duanpingqiao vegetable market occupies the road and vehicles are parked at will.
Third, the illegal phenomenon of pedestrians and non-motor vehicles on urban roads has not been effectively controlled. Subjectively, people's awareness of participating in traffic law-abiding is relatively low. Pedestrians, cyclists and passengers violate the road traffic safety law, whether consciously or unconsciously. Unconscious traffic violations are manifested in the following aspects: many residents do not know enough about the new laws and regulations in traffic behavior, for example, many cyclists simply don't know that they should get off the bus and implement them; Many passengers can't get on and off from the left side of the motor vehicle when they don't know how to get on and off the motor vehicle lane. Their behavior boils down to little or no knowledge of traffic regulations. Conscious traffic violations are mainly influenced by factors such as convenience, quickness and time saving. If you know that you can't violate it, you will follow the crowd and get lucky. "Road Traffic Safety Law" stipulates that traffic police can punish on the spot, but in reality, it is difficult for traffic police to enforce this kind of traffic violation, mostly warning and almost no fine. Moreover, the traffic violations of pedestrians and non-motor vehicle drivers are universal to a certain extent, which often leads to the embarrassing situation of "the law does not blame the public" in law enforcement. In addition, for those who refuse to accept the fine, the management method given by the Road Traffic Safety Law is too simple and has no strong deterrent and binding force, which makes pedestrians and non-motor vehicle drivers violate the law repeatedly. The "strict" control of the police is often easily surrounded by the masses, taking the opportunity to boo and even make trouble, and many people help the offenders to say "good words". Over time, the police have a fear of difficulties in management, which is not conducive to the development of traffic management.
Therefore, I think that to change the current traffic chaos, we should do the following:
First, establish and improve a new socialized management mechanism for road traffic management.
Second, strengthen the construction of urban transportation infrastructure.

Under the guidance of Director Sun of our school, I understand my responsibilities and how I should direct pedestrians to cross the road. Until I really stood at a traffic intersection, wearing volunteer clothes and holding a small red flag, I naturally felt it.
It was windy that day, and the road conditions at the intersection where we were on duty were extremely complicated, and there were many people during peak hours. At the red light, dozens of people can be overstocked in the bicycle lane alone. Time is precious to these travelers. Generally speaking, people are more orderly. However, some passers-by want to run a red light because they are in a hurry.
