Walking through the office building of Mawei Factory, giant tower cranes and gantry cranes appeared in front of us.
The largest gantry crane in Mawei Factory spans nearly 100 meters and can lift 200 tons of heavy objects. Nowadays, the super-large gantry crane and shipbuilding workshop has been moved to Chulu Island in Lianjiang County.
Before 1990s, every time Mawei Factory built a big ship, there were always casualties. Some were hit by heavy objects falling from the iron wall, and some accidentally fell into the cabin from a height. These accidents seem to have become the "convention" of major shipyards in those years.
