Management Strategy
Lightwell's management strategy is based on the "Golden Triangle" strategy of "Profitable Growth", "Value Creation", and "Cash Flow" with "Quality" as the core. In March 1999, Chien Hsing Electronics, a subsidiary of Lite-On Group, became independent from the Optoelectronics Business Unit of Yuan Hsing Technology and in November 2004, Chien Hsing Electronics became a publicly traded company in Taiwan, specializing in the optical disk drive industry.
Constructive technologies such as CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD-ROM and newer products such as Combo and DVD-RW have established MA-tek as one of the world's leading foundries in the optical drive industry. MA-tek will continue to strengthen its market share in the computer optical drive market and expand its market share in the consumer and automotive electronics industries. Founded in 1978, MA-tek was formerly known as Silicon Power Electronics Rubber Division, a member of the Lite-On Group, which became independent after the merger of Lite-On Technology and in March 2004, MA-tek has been publicly listed. MA-tek is a world-class leader in input devices and is committed to working with customers to design and develop high quality products. Founded in 1990, Lite-On Technology Corp. is one of Lite-On's affiliated companies.
The Imaging Division is the world's largest manufacturer of professional contact image sensors (CIS), with monochrome CIS used in fax machines and color CIS used in scanners and multifunction business machines. In 2003, the Imaging Division started to introduce camera modules for cell phones.
The Separate Component Division manufactures a wide range of rectifier diodes, bridge rectifiers, and surface mount diodes, which are used in communications, monitors, switching power supplies, and automotive electronics.
The Foundry is located in Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan, with a monthly capacity of approximately 38,000 wafers. Pentium's six-inch semiconductor wafer fab provides stable process technologies such as High Voltage CMOS and Bipolar. Founded in 1998, Pentium is a member of the Lite-On Group. Pentium's main focus is the production of automotive rectifier diodes, and is actively developing the design and packaging of Pressfit Diodes, Dish Diodes, Block Diodes, and other packaged diode rectifiers for automotive generator applications.
Voltage regulator is another core technology of PTC. Combined with the application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) developed and designed by our outstanding R&D and engineering teams, Pentium is making great strides towards becoming a world-class "Total Solution" provider.
Through these Tier 1 suppliers, Pangaea's products (Actron Diodes) have been approved for use in five of the world's six major vehicle segments. Founded in 1978, Lite-On was listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) in 2000 and went public in 2001. In May 2006, Lite-On acquired a 20% stake in Lite-On through a private placement.
Lixin is the largest supplier of transformers in China and one of the major suppliers of power supplies for notebook computers and LCD TVs, with a global presence in Hong Kong, mainland China, Japan and Malaysia. Lite-On Technology's direct investment in Lite-On has expanded the global market share of notebook power supply to 60%, moving towards Absolute No.1 in the world, and the supply chain of power supply products is also complete and smooth. Founded in 2003, Lite-On Technology Corp. is a subsidiary of Lite-On Industrial Corp. and Lite-On Technology Corp. acquired a 30% equity stake in June 2006 by way of a cash capital increase, thus mastering the key components of backlight modules in both the short and long term.
