What resin is used in medical water purifier?

The resins generally used in medical water purifiers are ion exchange resins, including both anion exchange resins and cation exchange resins. These resins are polymer synthetic materials that can remove ions, organics, and other impurities in the water to achieve the purpose of preparing high purity water.

In medical equipment, the commonly used anion exchange resins are aluminum hydroxide type (OH-type) and methyl sulfate type (MBA-2 type), etc., which can remove carbonate, nitrate, chlorine ions and so on from water. Cation exchange resins, on the other hand, are mainly solid acids with strong acidity and are mainly used to remove cations such as sodium, potassium and magnesium from water.

It should be noted that different types of medical water purifiers may choose different ion exchange resins, while different brands and models of water purifiers may also use different technical solutions, so the specifics need to refer to the equipment manual or consult with the manufacturer.
