Tianjin Medical University Higher Self-Examination--Cradle of Nursing Talents
Tianjin Medical University, the predecessor of Tianjin Medical University, was founded in 1951, which is the first higher medical school approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China after the founding of the new China, with the renowned endocrinologist and medical educator, Prof. Zhu Xianyi, as the first president. In 1993, Tianjin Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government decided to merge Tianjin Medical College and Tianjin Second Medical College to form Tianjin Medical University, which was approved by the State Education Commission in December of the same year.
In June 1994, Tianjin Medical University was formally established. The current Secretary of the Party Committee of the University is Prof. Yang Guihua, and the President is Prof. Hao Xishan, a famous oncologist and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The university is one of the key construction institutions of National
"211 Project".
