One, the overall process
Consultation → preoperative examination, booking surgery → follow the doctor's instructions to stop wearing contact lenses for 1-2 weeks, antimicrobial eye drops pointing 1-3 days → surgery, good personal hygiene and go to the preoperative review as scheduled, sign the LASIK consent → enter the operating room for preoperative disinfection and other preparations → enter LASIK After the surgery, go to the preoperative checkup and sign the LASIK consent form according to the appointment. Enter the operating room for preoperative disinfection and other preparations. Enter the LASIK operating room, lie down on the operating table, use eye drops with anesthetic effect, and undergo the LASIK surgery without pain in a fully conscious state (about 10 minutes). After the surgery, you can leave the operating room, put on an eye shield and be accompanied by friends or relatives, or return home on your own, and rest for a few hours to regain clear vision → you can go to work and school the next day after the surgery, and you can live your life as usual.
The surgery process
Before the surgery, the nurse will explain in detail the precautions to be taken during and after the surgery. When the time for surgery arrives, the nurse puts on your surgical gown, cap, and shoes and enters the surgical preparation room, where the nurse cleans the skin around your eyes with an antiseptic solution. Entering the operating room, lying on a comfortable surgical chair, the doctor will start to order one or two drops of anesthesia and infection prevention drops, put on the sterile cover, reveal the surgical eye, the lid opener will open the eye, please focus your attention on a red flash above, the machine will make a crisp popping sound, after 7~20 seconds the laser will be fired, the cornea will be reset, and the surgery will be completed. When you get off the operating bed, your doctor will check your surgery with a slit lamp (special microscope).
Third, after surgery
Excimer laser surgery will not affect your normal life. If you have IK surgery, you can recover to 80%-90% on the 2nd day after surgery. You can work or study normally. However, do not do strenuous collision type sports for a month or two.
