(1) Define the equipment, power consumption environment and the power failure protection purpose to be achieved.
Generally, standby UPS can be selected for low-power equipment with built-in switching power supply, and online interactive UPS or online UPS should be selected in places with bad electricity environment, while online UPS can only choose equipment that does not allow intermittent time or require sine wave alternating current.
② Determine the nature of the load, whether it is resistive load or inductive load, or both?
For inductive loads such as fans and motors, UPS should be configured at least 3 times the rated power of the equipment. If the inductive load has a frequency converter, it can be configured according to 1: 1.
③ What is the current total load power?
You should buy batteries according to the load power, not according to the capacity of UPS. When purchasing UPS power supply, you need to know the load power factor of UPS power supply, KW= power factor *KVA. The larger the visibility coefficient, the stronger the load capacity of UPS power supply.
④ Will the load increase greatly in the near future?
If you need to add a lot of load in the future, it is recommended to choose a UPS with better expansion. Of course, it is also suggested to match the battery capacity and battery line according to the total load in the later stage, so as to avoid unnecessary troubles caused by too short battery discharge time or too thin battery line after the load increases.
⑤ Is the installation space limited?
For the installation space, we must make measurements and arrangements in advance, taking into account the main engine, battery and necessary maintenance space.
Other considerations:
If the machine is installed on the non-first floor, the bearing capacity of the floor must be considered, as well as the weight of the UPS mainframe and battery, and the floor should be reinforced if necessary. If there is no power failure for a long time, the battery can be discharged manually for a period of time, which can prolong the service life of electromagnetism and find the problem battery in time.
