What year was the first refrigerator made in China? What was the name?

Beijing Snowflake Refrigerator produced the first domestic refrigerator in 1956, named "Snowflake".

Snowflake refrigerators had an annual production capacity of 800,000 refrigerators, one of the earliest brand-name products in China, which won the favor of many consumers at home and abroad, and became the pride of the nation for a while.

To the late 80's, "snow" in a new round of rapid development period but lost the advantage, and gradually fell into difficulties. Today, "Snowflake" was eventually acquired by Hisense Group after several setbacks.

The predecessor of Snow Group is Beijing Medical Equipment Factory. This factory used to mainly produce medical refrigeration equipment. In 1956, the factory produced the first refrigerator in China. After the reform and opening up, Snowflake's products were changed from medical to civil use, and Snowflake refrigerators quickly became popular in the country.

In 1983, the main plant of Snow Refrigerator introduced the production equipment and technology of Phillips of Holland and updated a production line with an annual output of 50,000 medium-sized single-door household refrigerators. At that time, there was a lack of domestic refrigerators in China, and Snowflake refrigerators were loved by consumers for their stable performance, moderate price and low repair rate, and the products were in short supply.
