It is reported that Google X Lab has recently turned its attention to the medical and health field and is developing a medical-grade health bracelet. This health bracelet is built by an internal life science team, which can not only monitor health data such as heart rate, pulse rate and skin temperature, but also monitor external environmental information data, such as noise level and light intensity. In fact, Google X Lab has also developed some medical projects before. For example, last year, the laboratory developed a smart contact lens to monitor the blood sugar level of diabetic patients, hoping to improve the quality of life of millions of diabetic patients.
Contact lenses detect tears by embedding micro-sensors, thus analyzing blood sugar content, so patients can know their blood sugar level at any time. In June 2006, Google cooperated with a pharmaceutical company to study multiple sclerosis with this lens.
