What is the pathogenesis of diabetes?

Diabetes is a common endocrine system diseases, is due to the body's insulin deficiency, or the quality of insulin itself and other reasons for its inability to play a normal physiological role, and caused by sugar metabolism, mainly sugar, fat, protein metabolism disruption of the three major substances, a syndrome of disease. In fact, to put it bluntly, diabetes is an abnormally high level of blood sugar in our body.

There are four main types of diabetes: type I diabetes (T1DM), type II diabetes (T2DM), gestational diabetes, and special type of diabetes.T1DM is caused by damage to the β-cells in the pancreas and the inability to secrete adequate amounts of insulin, resulting in high blood glucose levels, which leads to the symptoms of diabetes. The β-cells of patients with T2DM are able to normally secrete insulin. However, their muscle, fat, liver and other cells are not sensitive to insulin, and the receptors on the cells do not bind well to insulin, resulting in increased blood glucose concentration because insulin does not work properly. Gestational diabetes mellitus is diabetes mellitus that occurs during pregnancy and is caused by an increase in the secretion of hormones that antagonize insulin, such as estrogen and progesterone, during pregnancy, resulting in an absolute or relative insulin deficiency.

Although so far, diabetes is incurable, but this does not mean that a cure is impossible, at least compared to the past, we have a way to delay the onset of the disease, and with the advancement of medical treatment, more and more therapeutic means have appeared, and I hope that this "world's second most prevalent" disease can be removed as soon as possible! The first time I saw this, I was in the middle of a long journey, and I was able to get out of it.
