How to measure capacitors with a multimeter?

Capacitor measurement good or bad with a mechanical meter in order to judge accurately.

Play the multimeter to 1K or 100 ohm gear, two pens are connected to the two electrodes of the capacitor under test. Observe the response of the meter needle, if the needle is very close to zero, and then slowly go back (to infinity direction), go somewhere to stop, indicating that the capacitor is basically good. Return to stay bit closer to infinity, indicating that the better the quality, the farther away from the description of more leakage. If the multimeter needle quickly swing to zero or close to zero position does not move, indicating that the capacitor poles have occurred a short-circuit failure, can not be used. If the meter pen and the capacitor two poles connected, the needle does not move at all, indicating that the capacitor internal connection has been disconnected, also can not be used.
