What does 5g include

For the whole industry chain of 5G, we can simply divide it into three aspects: upstream, midstream and downstream.

The upstream is mainly base station upgrading (including base station radio frequency, baseband chip)

Midstream network construction (network planning and design companies, network optimization/maintenance companies)

The downstream product application and terminal product application scenarios constitute. (Cloud Computing, Telematics, Internet of Things, VR/AR)

Inside the upstream, midstream and downstream can include device raw materials, base station antennas, small and micro-base stations, communications, network equipment, fiber optic cables, optical modules, system integration and service providers, carriers, and other segments of the industry chain.

I. 5G architecture system

We divide the 5G architecture system into four parts: base station system, network structure, application scenarios, and terminal equipment, each of which corresponds to a different industrial chain.

Terminal equipment: 5G terminal equipment will not be limited to cell phones and computers, but will also cover home appliances, automobiles, wearable devices, industrial equipment, etc., and its core industry chain links are communication chips, communication modules, antennas and radio frequency and other parts.

Base station system: Base station is the core link to provide wireless coverage and signal transceiver, including the main equipment of the base station and outdoor antenna system, of which the main equipment of the base station is the BBU (baseband unit), and the outdoor antenna system includes antenna, RRU (remote radio frequency unit) and so on. Due to 5G high network capacity and full-spectrum access demand, antenna RF module integration, large-scale antenna technology (Massive MIMO), small micro-base station and indoor distribution is the main direction of base station system evolution.

Network architecture: In order to adapt to different application scenarios, 5G network architecture needs to undergo subversive changes, the key lies in the use of SDN (software-defined network)/NFV (network function virtualization) technology, including infrastructure, pipeline capacity, value-added services, data and information, and other different sets of capabilities, to achieve the virtualization of network functions, centralization of resources, automation of services, and management of operations. The industry chain of 5G network architecture includes communication network equipment (SDN/NFV solutions), fiber optic cables, optical modules, network planning, operation and maintenance, etc., of which the most core link is communication network equipment and SDN/NFV solutions.

Application Scenario: The most revolutionary significance of 5G lies in the in-depth integration with industrial facilities, medical instruments, transportation, etc., to effectively meet the diversified business needs of vertical industries such as industry, healthcare, transportation, etc., and to form the typical applications in vertical fields such as smart city, telemedicine, industrial automation, and automated driving, so as to realize the vision of the Internet of Everything. Its industry chain links are mainly system integration and industry solutions, big data applications, IoT platform solutions, value-added services and industry applications.
