For PCBs, unless the line is made three-dimensional in the form of a film, the board is generally flat. Therefore, to fully utilize the three-dimensional space, FPC is a good solution. In terms of hardboards, the common space extension program is to use the slot plus interface card, but FPC as long as the adapter design can make a similar structure, and in the direction of the design is also more flexible. By utilizing a connected FPC, two hardboards can be connected to form a set of parallel wiring systems, which can also be folded into any angle to accommodate different product designs.
FPCs can of course be connected to the line using terminal connections, but it is also possible to avoid these connections by using a flexible rigid board, a single FPC can be configured using the layout of a number of rigid boards and connect them. This approach is less connector and terminal interference, which can improve signal quality and product reliability.
