MPI communication
MPI (Multipoint Interface) SIMATIC S7 communication interface is suitable for a few inter-station communication networks, and is used to connect a few PLCs for short-distance communication.
Connect controller S7-300 or S7-400CPU with MPI programming port, connect S7-200CPU with PPI communication port, and connect computer network card programming port (MPI/DP port) with PROFIBUS or MPI cable to realize the network including PC and PLC.
The MPI communication rate is 19.2 k ~ 12 mbit/s, and the MPI network directly connected to S7-200CPU has a high speed of 187.5Kbit/s (limited by the high communication rate of S7-200CPU).
The communication distance of 32 stations in MPI network is 50m (communication baud rate is 187.5Kbit/s), and the communication distance is extended by RS-485 repeater.
MPI allows master-master communication. The number of master-slave communication connections for each S7-200CPU is 4.
MPI protocol can be used as PPI master station to communicate with S7-200CPU, that is, S7-300 or S7-400 can communicate with S7-200. It must be ensured that S7-200CPU can be used as PPI master station again, and Micro/WIN can access S7-200 CPU as PPI master station through MPI protocol.
S7-200CPU can be MPI station, that is, S7-200CPU can communicate with PPI through MPI network.
Step 7-Micro/WIN and S7-200CPU establish MPI main connection hardware. Use CP56 1 1 card to add PROFIBUS or MPI cable. S7-200CPU communication port should use S7-200 CPU network connector with programming port. The low communication rate is set to 19.2K and the height is187.5kk.
Note: CP56 13 can communicate with S7-200 CPU through MPI.
S7-300S7-400 CPU is used as MPI master station, and the S7-200 data communication packet is read by XGET(SFC67)XPUT(SFC68) instruction. S7200 CPU needs to write any communication-related programs and exchange data to sort out the continuous V storage area, that is.
