In 1999, oncology became a key discipline in Guangdong Province, and in 2001, it was named a national key discipline, and in the same year, it set up the first anti-tumor drug clinical trial research base (GCP Center) in China, and in 2005, it was awarded the State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China.
