Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC for short) is located in Jinding Town, Zhuhai Special Economic Zone. Founded in 1996, it is the first international-level racing circuit in China that meets the standards of FIA Formula One.
The FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) approved, 4.3 km long, international standard Zhuhai International Circuit is destined to become the center of racing in Asia. The main design consultant for the Zhuhai International Circuit was Australia's China Circuit Consultants, an association that included kinhill engineering (now known as HALLIRTONKBR), the design and engineering management company for the Formula 1 circuit, which was upgraded and remodeled in 1999 by renowned Formula 1 circuit designer TilkeGmbh.
The Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC) provides challenging corners for spectacular overtaking performances by world-class drivers, with a clockwise circuit that features four left-hand corners, ten right-hand corners, and two straights of 900 meters and 500 meters respectively.
The design of the ZIC incorporates the regulations and specifications approved by the FIA and FIM for Formula 1 and the 500 MotoGp. One of the 900-meter main straights consists of a fast curve immediately following the 500-meter straight, which allows a top speed of more than 300 kph. The track is 12 meters wide and the off-pit straight is 14 meters wide.
The Zhuhai International Circuit was China's first permanent international racing circuit, completed in November 1996, and hosted the first international race on an international-level circuit in China's history.

Firstly, the start of the race will be very interesting. Once the race director has approved the starting status of all the cars, a signal will be shown on the starting line and the cars will start the race.
Turn 1 is where you'll see multiple cars pushing into the turn at very high speeds at the same time. Back in 1999 we recorded Porsche speeds of up to 290 km/h at the end of the big straight. Now we have reason to believe that the speeds here will be 300 kilometers per hour or more.
Turn 4 is a difficult, sharp left-hander, but also one that offers overtaking opportunities. As the cars pass through Turn 3 at high speed, all drivers will brake as late as possible when they get here and enter the turn in a daredevil situation.
Turns 9 and 10, which are also left-handers, are much the same as Turn 4, but with the short straightaway to Turn 10 immediately after the exit, there are a lot of conditions. Drivers coming out of Turn 9 had to try and make sure they had the most favorable terrain before entering Turn 10. If there were other rivals behind them, it would be difficult to get the best possible entry position out of Turn 10.
Turn 14, the corner where the cars return to the front of the grandstands and the pits, is also the fastest corner on the track. The braking here should only be very light, and then very smooth out of the corner, followed by the aforementioned big kick for gas all the way through the grandstands, and finally reaching the highest speed of the entire race on arrival at Turn 1.
This is a unique, ***, high-speed track.
