Are pet dental treatments painful?
Although there will be pain, we will take steps to minimize any discomfort your pet encounters. We will use a local anesthetic ("Novacaine") just as a human doctor would. Also as part of the anesthesia protocol, we give pain medication, inject long-acting anti-inflammatory medication at the end of the procedure, and prescribe oral pain medication for each sick animal to take home. They are fed and taken as soon as they arrive home. If you notice that a sick animal is not feeling well after surgery, give us a call and let us know. We want our patients to feel comfortable as soon as possible as well.
