The Lanzhou-Xinjiang Railway is the main railroad transportation line from Xinjiang to mainland China, and is an important part of the railroad network in northwest China. In the more than 30 years since the completion of the Lanxin Railway, the Urumqi Railway Bureau has carried out large-scale upgrading and reconstruction of the line, gradually realizing the electric power through the line and adopting electrical centralization. Semi-automatic blocking, wireless train scheduling and other advanced technology and equipment, fundamentally changed the backwardness of technology and equipment, so that the line throughput capacity increased to 2 million tons, reaching China's domestic advanced level, and in 1986 the first in China to achieve the internal combustion of traction power.
