With the new crown outbreak spreading to all of Hubei, dispersing to almost all of the country's provinces, and imported cases found in more than a dozen countries, WHO (World Health Organization) Director General Tenderloin declared the new crown virus outbreak "a public **** health emergency of international concern" in the early morning hours of January 31st Beijing time.

At the beginning of the expansion of the epidemic, Dongfeng management realized that for Dongfeng, for Hubei, and for the people of the whole country, this time is at least a battle-level test. It took Dongfeng management only a short time to figure out what Dongfeng could do and what it needed to deploy for that, and never thought about what it was going to do or not do, because that was something that didn't need to be discussed.
Zhu Yanfeng, chairman and party secretary of Dongfeng, did not talk about the "social responsibility of state-owned enterprises", but only about the practice. He issued a one-sentence order to tens of thousands of workers across the group: "During the Spring Festival, please do a good job of preventing and controlling the pneumonia epidemic according to the requirements, pay attention to hygiene and scientific protection."
Is it that simple? Of course not. In fact, the entire Dongfeng Group has shifted to a "wartime system" because of the epidemic.
"Wartime deployment"
On January 23, Hao Peng, party secretary of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC), told Zhu Yanfeng that the SASAC would mobilize resources to fully support Dongfeng in combating the epidemic according to Dongfeng's needs and to ensure the stability of the production and operation.
On the same day, Ren Hongbin, deputy director of the SASAC, spoke with Zhu twice, emphasizing again that any difficulties of the Dongfeng Group can be reported to the SASAC, which will fully support it.
These care, support, but also to give the task. Zhu Yanfeng said that all the staff of Dongfeng will do their best to fight the epidemic, to ensure the safety of employees' lives and the stability of production and operation.
This undoubtedly speaks to the two main focuses of the current work of Dongfeng. Dongfeng first time to start the emergency mechanism.
The first is the command organization. Dongfeng set up an epidemic prevention and control headquarters, chairman Zhu Yanfeng and general manager Li Shaozhu as the commander, the headquarters of the implementation of the dual head system, each other as a backup. The epidemic is a battlefield. On the evening of January 23rd, Dongfeng Motor Group urgently decided to donate RMB 10 million to Wuhan Charity Federation to fight against the new pneumonia epidemic. From the point of view of public information, this is the first single of this wave of donations from automobile enterprises. Subsequently, on January 26, Dongfeng Motor made an additional donation of 23 million yuan.
Meanwhile, subsidiaries of the Dongfeng Group have shown their skills, Shenlong raised 800 sets of protective suits and masks for the painting workshop to support the front line; Dongfeng Shiyan base of parts and components companies, and Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Company, Dongfeng Off-road Vehicle Company, to the State Pharmaceuticals Dongfeng Health Industry Company to donate 400 sets of protective suits, 900 goggles for the emergency fleet, the Shiyan Prevention and Control Command, donating hundreds of protective clothing and goggles.
Dongfeng Xiaokang donated Dongfeng Fengguang 580, Dongfeng Fengguang ix7 and other vehicles to Hubei Provincial Charity Federation, which were used for the transportation of materials and medical personnel in the fight against the epidemic in Shiyan. Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. and Dongfeng Honda donated 3 million yuan to Wuhan Economic Development Zone, which also raised 400 sets of protective suits, latex gloves and medical masks and other materials for use by the fleet of caravans in response to the epidemic.
The Prevention and Control Command requires centralized disinfection of office areas, distribution and stockpiling of disinfectant water, protective suits, thermometers and other materials, and making plans to actively address the practical difficulties of sick employees and families in the event of a confirmed case.
As of 17:00 on January 29, 2020, Dongfeng, together with its enterprises, donated money and goods*** totaling 41,118,200 yuan.
It is worth mentioning that the donation and material collection statistics are only as of January 29th. At present, a large number of anti-epidemic materials are still in a steady stream of collection, these materials to the most needy anti-epidemic medical front line to go, to the community to ensure that the basic life of the traveling fleet to go, is the focus of the logistical work.
While trying their best to do all this, the people receiving the help may not have realized that Dongfeng Group's production is being seriously disrupted by the epidemic.
First and second tier
Since 10 p.m. on Jan. 23, Wuhan city buses, subways, ferries and long-distance passenger transportation have been suspended, and airports and train stations have been temporarily closed for departures from Han. The city of Wuhan, a "thoroughfare of nine provinces", officially announced the closure of the city.
Wuhan's transportation is very inconvenient in the state of "closed city", and only rely on cruising cabs, which can not meet the immediate needs of medical workers and community residents to travel. As more people stayed at home, 1,000 Dongfeng vehicles were commissioned to travel through the closed city of Wuhan.
The Motorist finally got its hands on photos from the Dongfeng Outbound fleet on the 31st. The volunteers are proud of their contributions and the risks they take, and though most of them confess to having fears and worries, all they do is live alone and then sleep only a few hours a day, traveling from morning to night through 280 communities in Hanyang, Qiaokou and Jiang'an, Wuhan, to buy groceries, deliver household goods and serve special travel needs. Since the Spring Festival until January 30, many of them had their first meal. Before that, many of the staff at Dongfeng Travel had been eating instant noodles for a week.
Whether it's the size of the fleet or the number of communities it serves, Dongfeng's travel fleet accounts for one-fourth of the total, even though, as a local company, Dongfeng Travel's size isn't the largest compared with its peers. The high operational efficiency is not without reason. Gao Lizhong, head of the Dongfeng Travel brand and general manager of Dongfeng Smooth Travel Company, told The Motorist, "Dongfeng Travel's fleet of vehicles, even with drivers, has been requisitioned by the government. Our fleet drivers, operations team, customer service, maintenance, back-office support, and branding team are all working, basically not on vacation."

He faces pressures every day. For example, the not-so-generous driver's immunization equipment, at any time may present the staff or family members infected. His greatest anxiety is: "so many employees and drivers running in the infected area, I really worry about their accidents."

Dongfeng Travel was established on January 25, 2019, and when the service went online in April, it was not at all expected to encounter such a big challenge a year later, but the test is current, and the Dongfeng Travel fleet has clearly withstood the test.

The doctors and nurses who stayed on the front line and supported the country are considered to be the "most beautiful walkers". Xu Wenping is an 80-year-old, claiming that he is "about to be 40 with a good mind".
