What are the precautions for defibrillators

Precautions: 2005 International Conference on ECC and CPR Treatment Recommendations*** Knowledge states, "Defibrillation should be preferred for those with defibrillatory rhythm manifestations. ... For those without defibrillation rhythm manifestations, CPR for 1.5~3 minutes is recommended before defibrillation... It is emphasized that defibrillation is given only once and CPR is performed immediately because defibrillation wastes time, resulting in the interruption of effective chest compressions... Give only 1, then continue chest compressions". There are three key points: (1) defibrillation is preferred when the AED indicates that "defibrillation is recommended"; (2) otherwise (no defibrillation rhythm, mostly ECG straight line) do 5 cycles of CPR before considering defibrillation; (3) it is emphasized that after 1 defibrillation do not do a life assessment, immediately followed by CPR, and then assessed after 5 cycles.
