Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was founded in 1958, one of the earlier higher colleges and universities of traditional Chinese medicine in the country, formerly the The predecessor was the Henan Provincial School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which was founded in Kaifeng in 1955. The school is located in Zhengzhou, the capital of the province, and has four campuses, namely Longzihu Campus, Dongming Road Campus, Renmin Road Campus and Dongfeng Road Campus, covering an area of 1,594.94 acres.
The building area is 623,400 square meters, and the total value of teaching, scientific and research instruments and equipment is 497 million yuan. It is a university built by the People's Government of Henan Province and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a university under the National Higher Education Revitalization Plan for Central and Western China, a university under the Chinese Government Scholarship Program of the Ministry of Education of China, a university under the integrated enrollment program "5+3" of the Ministry of Education of China in Chinese medicine, a national base for international cooperation in traditional Chinese medicine, and a doctoral degree authorization unit, Provincial civilized unit. It is the leader and center of training talents, scientific research, social service, cultural inheritance and innovation, and international exchange and cooperation of Chinese medicine in Henan Province.
As of July 7, 2021, there are 1,536 faculty members and 1,175 full-time teachers. There are 584 master's supervisors and 80 doctoral supervisors. There are three masters of Chinese medicine, one leading talent of the National Ten Thousand People's Plan, three national candidates of the Ten Million Talent Project, four Qihuang scholars of the Chinese Medicine Inheritance and Innovation "Ten Million" Talent Project, and three national famous Chinese medicine practitioners.
The university has three hospitals directly affiliated with it, including teaching, medical care and scientific research, with more than 5,300 beds open. The annual outpatient volume reaches more than 5.1 million, the annual inpatient hospitalization of more than 130,000, the level of comprehensive medical services ranked steadily in the forefront of similar hospitals in the country, to maximize the protection of graduates employment.
The women's dormitory is mostly bunk beds and six rooms, and a very few lucky people will be assigned to beds and tables. There is a small balcony outside that can be used for clothes, and each dormitory is also equipped with two communal tables, each with a separate small cabinet.
