This summer, I bought a set of books called Science Explorer. The content of this set of books is a little deep, and some of the content is not even understandable to me. But I hold it every day, read with great interest, even when traveling to take a book, for the road to see.
This book has a lot of science written down and a lot of conversations with famous people. It covers mainly sports, water resources, sound and light, electromagnetism, astronomy, chemistry, physics, environment. Plants and so on. It leads me to explore the mysteries of science and be a little scientific explorer.
The cover of each volume is very nice. The cover of Motion, Force and Energy is a huge Ferris wheel; Water on Earth is a small trapezoidal waterfall; Astronomy is Saturn and a satellite among the eight planets; Weather and Climate is the lightning over the city across the night, and seeing all these pictures. Many questions popped into my head; why does the Ferris wheel turn? Does water run out in a waterfall? How are the eight planets arranged? How does lightning form? I immediately opened the book to find the answers.
In the book, I know; the eight planets from the inside out is Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus arrangement. It occurred to me that all of these planets contain countless mysteries. Mercury is the closest planet to the sun, above the water is evaporated; Venus is since the east-west rotation; so Venus on the sun stone west rises east falls; Saturn has a beautiful halo, very nice to see, see the contents of these, I am really eye-opening, grow up, I want to make space probes, to go to the universe of the many planets, to explore their mysteries.
Read this set of books. I feel the mystery of science is really infinite.
About Science Explorer After Reading 2Looking at the river was blown by the wind waves, this time the sun shines, the whole river appears to be sparkling, and I can not help but think a lot. When I first saw the book "Scientific Explorer Water on Earth". I thought there must be nothing to see, I did not expect to read read by the content of the deep attraction, which tells the water in many forms exist around us, with a unique charm, but also introduces the relationship between water resources and human beings and the movement of marine water, which not only enriches our knowledge, but also broaden our horizons. From ancient times to the present, water has invariably played the role of nourishing everything. In ancient times, it is God, was the people worship, devout faith; is the thoughts, was the poet with the emotional support, that "you ask the return date has not been period, Bashan night rain up the autumn pool"; is selfless, moisturize the farmers' land, "with the wind into the night, moisturize the silent.
Nowadays, water is even more inseparable from our lives, food, clothing, and even two-thirds of the quality of human beings is made up of water, it is said that everything grows by the sun, but I think water is also essential. Although the earth is a "water planet", but the available fresh water is very limited, to quote the words of this book to say: "most of the earth's water, more than 97% of the salt water in the ocean, only 3% of the water is fresh water, in the 3% of the water, about 2/3 stored in the Antarctic and the North Pole in the huge glaciers, the atmosphere, the atmosphere, the water is not the same as water, but it is also the water. in huge glaciers in the Antarctic and Arctic, and a small amount of water in the atmosphere, basically in the form of invisible water vapor. The fresh water available for human use on earth is less than 1% of the total, speaking of which I feel a little guilty, because we can see the waste of water resources everywhere around us, but turn a blind eye to it, then in the future, our children and grandchildren, they later water is minimal, so how can there be more fresh water resources for us to use it?
And my first thought is seawater, we can turn seawater into fresh water used in our lives, we have all learned chemistry, the first seawater will be filtered, from the salt water to obtain fresh water, this process is called desalination in chemistry, and then distillation 's 'method to make the water boil so as to get fresh water, which this book also introduces a method called frozen water, is high pressure under the use of pumps to pump water into a Fengchang precision filter, with the filter to sort out fresh water, salty water can be returned to the ocean. Because of the desalination to need energy and the corresponding price of some equipment is very expensive, nevertheless, in the arid Middle East, the United States have adopted this technology, see here, I think China should also take this technology, because now the daily water is very tight, if the use of this technology can be a solution to the arid region of the situation of water stress, although China's implementation of the "South-to-North Water Transfer Policy Although China has implemented the "South-to-North Water Transfer Policy", it is costly in terms of financial and material resources and manpower. I think it is possible to "South-to-North" financial resources to be used in the desalination of seawater on this technology, not better? Maybe some people think that the water on the iceberg, but you think about not get back the fresh water how to dispose of? Will there be some negative impacts on the surrounding organisms? Now we are popular wastewater recycling reuse, a talk about this, I think of my hometown of the polluted creek, we can use the method of this book that: the wastewater precipitation precipitate to add bacteria to form the "activation of sediment", and then mixed with the wastewater, the bacteria will be
The remaining dirt in the water decomposed. The bacteria break down the remaining dirt in the water. If additional treatment is required to remove other substances such as metals and industrial chemicals, once the wastewater has been effectively treated in this way, it can be harmlessly returned to development, discharged back into lakes, rivers and oceans, and infiltrated into the ground. Water can then re-enter the water cycle. I think this must be suitable for every polluted lake, because it is not only conducive to the protection of water resources, but also can provide the fresh water we need in our daily life, if this problem is solved, I believe that we no longer need to worry because of drought or lack of water to use, of course, this is just my personal thoughts. Having written this, I think we should all know the importance of fresh water resources! In this world where fresh water resources are scarce, water resources need to be protected and cherished by us. Water, the origin of everything. Water, the life of everything. Water, the future of everything. As described in the "Tao Te Ching", "water is good to all things without competition, in the evil of all people". So why don't we treasure water?
About Science Explorer 3After reading Science Explorer (Animals), I was amazed. The animals in the world are so amazing. Let's take the crocodile and pygmy apes as examples, the female crocodile will hold the baby crocodile in her mouth, the pygmy apes have a body of about 10 centimeters and weigh only about 150 grams, and so on. This book also introduces many amazing animals and their strange behavior.
This book is a mainstream science textbook for middle schools in the U.S. It is richly illustrated with clear, colorful illustrations, and the contents of the book are clearly shown. And each chapter, unit, and section will be followed by key terms, knowledge points and other content review reflection questions, so that we have room for consolidation and improvement.
The first part of the book is "Into Science", which starts with examples of scientists and gradually cuts into the theme of the book.
This book not only introduces me to the magic and mystery of animals, opened the door to the animal kingdom, but also reminds me that although people are the master of the earth, but can never change the whole earth, we must be good to the earth, good to the animals, and protect the environment.
About Science Explorer Read 4The body is capable of attracting substances like steel. It has the strongest ability to attract steel at its ends, which are called magnetic poles. Able to own the rotation of the magnetic body, such as hanging this magnetic needle, the magnetic static guide that the magnetic pole is called the South Pole, also known as the S pole; pointing to the north of the magnetic pole is called the North Pole, also known as the N pole. Magnetic poles of different names attract each other, and magnetic poles of the same name repel each other. Magnet attracts iron, cobalt, nickel and other substances of the nature called magnetism. The area of magnetism at both ends of the magnet is called the magnetic pole, one end of the North Pole (north because the beginning letter of the English North is N, so also known as the N pole), and one end of the South Pole (South because of the beginning of the English South the first letter is S, so also known as the S pole). Experiments have shown that same-sex magnetic poles repel each other and opposite-sex poles attract each other.
There are many iron with two anisotropic poles of the original magnet, in the absence of an external magnetic field, these original magnets are arranged in disorder, their magnetic properties cancel each other out, do not show the external magnetic properties. When the iron near the magnet, these original magnets in the role of the magnet, neatly arranged, so that near the end of the magnet has the opposite polarity and magnet polarity and attract each other. This indicates that iron is able to be magnetized by the magnet due to the presence of protomagnets. Metals such as copper and aluminum do not have a protomagnet structure, so they cannot be attracted by magnets.
What is magnetism? Simply put, magnetism is the effect of magnetic force on a substance placed in an uneven magnetic field. The strength of a substance's magnetism is determined by the direction and strength of the magnetic force per unit mass of the substance in the same inhomogeneous magnetic field. Because any substance is magnetic, any substance is subject to magnetic force in an inhomogeneous magnetic field.
What really exists in the space around the magnetic poles are not magnetic lines of force, but a field, which we call the magnetic constant The mutual attraction of magnetic substances, etc. is carried out by means of magnetic fields. We know that there is gravity between substances, it is a gravitational constant magnetic field is similar, is a kind of space around the magnetic poles filled with a constant magnetic field can be expressed by the number of imaginary magnetic lines of force, the magnetic field is strong in places where the magnetic lines are dense, the magnetic field is weak in places where the magnetic lines are sparse. The number of lines of magnetic force passing through a unit cross section is called the magnetic flux density.
Moving charged particles are subjected to a force called the Lorentz force in a magnetic field. The strength of a magnetic field is determined by the magnitude of the Lorentz force on the same charged particle in different magnetic fields. Tesla is the International System of Units unit of magnetic flux density. Magnetic flux density is the fundamental physical quantity that describes a magnetic field, while magnetic field strength is an auxiliary quantity that describes a magnetic field. Tesla, N (1886~1943) was a Croatian-American electrical engineer who invented the transformer and the AC motor.
The magnetic properties of matter are not only universal, but also diverse, and as a result are widely studied and applied. Nearly from our body and the surrounding matter, as far as a variety of stars and interstellar matter, micro-world of atoms, nuclei and elementary particles, macro-world of various materials, all have this or that magnetic.
How many kinds of magnetism are there in the world? Generally speaking, the magnetic properties of matter can be divided into weak and strong magnetism, and then according to the different characteristics of magnetism, weak magnetism is divided into antimagnetism, paramagnetism and antiferromagnetism, and strong magnetism is divided into ferromagnetism and subferromagnetism. These are macroscopic substances in the atom of the electrons generated by the magnetic, atomic nucleus also has magnetic, called nuclear magnetism. But the nuclear magnetism is only about one-thousandth of the electronic magnetism or lower, so generally speaking material magnetism and atomic magnetism are mainly considered in the atom of the electronic magnetism. The magnetic properties of the nucleus are very low because the mass of the nucleus is much higher than the mass of the electron, and the magnetic properties of the nucleus still have important applications under certain conditions, for example, the medical application of nuclear magnetic **** vibration imaging (often called magnetic **** vibration CT, CT is an abbreviation of the English term for computerized tomography), is the application of the nuclear magnetic properties of the hydrogen atom.
Magnetic materials can be divided into soft magnetic materials such as iron and hard magnetic materials such as steel.
