Among the relief teams from various countries that assisted in our relief efforts, Japan's International Emergency Rescue Team (IERT), which not only arrived in Taiwan the fastest but also mobilized a whopping 145 people, made its 15th trip to Taiwan. Its members included officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, earthquake medical and firefighting personnel, and others. In addition, they also brought rescue dogs, as well as infrared sensors and other advanced equipment that can detect information about earthquake survivors.
(2) United States: The U.S. rescue team, from Fairfax County, Virginia (Virginia Fairfax Country) was established in 1949, is the largest team in Virginia, and is one of the best rescue teams in the United States. Its mission is to provide multi-directional services such as fire prevention and fire fighting, emergency medical care, and technical support to the public. Especially in the broken walls, search and rescue trapped survivors, the effectiveness of the phase is remarkable. The members who came to Taiwan this time included experts in building collapse, site safety, post-disaster search and rescue and backup, and were also equipped with rescue dogs to help locate trapped survivors in a timely manner. They arrived on the afternoon of September 22nd aboard a U.S. Air Force C5B Galaxy jumbo jet, and in addition to rescue personnel and rescue dogs, they also included three rescue trucks, one of which was a forty-foot cargo trailer, and one hundred and sixty thousand pounds of search and rescue equipment.
(3) Swiss Rescue:
The Swiss Rescue:
is a professional rescue team consisting of 40 Swiss, 25 Germans, and 10 Austrians, including doctors, nurses, technicians, engineers, and communications personnel, many of whom had just returned from the Turkey earthquake rescue mission and were immediately put to work on the Taiwan rescue.
(4) France:
The French rescue team included 55 people and 10 rescue dogs with 3.5 tons of special equipment. It is an experienced team, which has been involved in the search and rescue work of the earthquake in Turkey some days ago.
(5) Russia:
The Russian rescue team of ****73 members arrived in Taiwan on a military jet, the first Russian jet to arrive in Taiwan since the former Soviet Union. In addition, rescue teams from Singapore, Turkey, South Korea, Thailand, Mexico, Czech Republic, Spain, and Canada have also come to Taiwan.
