Companies on the U.S. Entity List

The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) has officially announced the inclusion of SMIC and its subsidiaries on the Entity List. Recently, the U.S. Department of Commerce officially announced the latest 77 entities to be added to the Entity List, which was formally implemented on the 22nd.

The United States alleges that the above five entities have acquired and attempted to acquire items of U.S. origin in support of Chinese military-related programs, contrary to U.S. national security and foreign policy interests.

The United States alleges that Tongfang Nuctech's poorly performing equipment undermines U.S. efforts to combat illicit international trafficking in nuclear and other radioactive materials, and that poorly performing equipment means less stringent cargo inspections and increased risk.

The United States alleges that BUPT is directly involved in the development and production of advanced weapons for the Chinese military. sui)
