What does it mean that multi-core CPU doesn't work in the browser?

I choose Chrome browser to test browser tags. This test can simulate the speed of the system when browsing the network. The higher the score, the faster the system will be in a multi-page and multi-element network environment. According to my test, at least the fastest Chrome browser doesn't support multi-core processors well. Whether AMD or Intel processors, the speed difference from dual-core to multi-core will not be too big. When we use other browsers (such as IE), there is no difference between processors with different cores. So from the Internet point of view, a dual-core processor is enough.

But now browsers are starting to optimize multi-core? For example, IE9 is not ineffective.
