Guidelines for the scientific wearing of masks by the public

The scientific wearing of masks has a preventive effect on respiratory infectious diseases such as C.pneumonia and influenza, which is not only to protect oneself but also beneficial to public health. At present, in the fight against the new crown pneumonia epidemic situation, in order to guide the public to wear masks scientifically, effective prevention and control of the epidemic, to protect public health, we put forward the following guidelines.

One, the general public

(a) home, outdoor, no gathering of people, well ventilated.

Protective advice: do not wear a mask.

(2) In crowded places, such as offices, shopping, restaurants, meeting rooms, workshops, etc.; or riding in elevators, public **** transportation.

Protection recommendations: in medium and low risk areas, should carry a spare mask (single-use medical mask or medical surgical mask), in close contact with other people (less than or equal to 1 meter) when wearing a mask. In high-risk areas, wear a single-use medical mask.

(c) For people with cold symptoms such as coughing or sneezing.

Recommendation for protection: Wear a single-use medical mask or a medical-surgical mask.

(d) For people who live with people in home isolation, discharged from hospital and recovering from hospitalization***.

Specific places

(a) in the crowded hospitals, bus stations, train stations, subway stations, airports, supermarkets, restaurants, public **** transportation and community and unit import and export places.

Protection recommendations: in medium and low risk areas, staff wear single-use medical masks or medical surgical masks. In high-risk areas, staff wear medical surgical masks or protective masks that meet KN95/N95 and above.

(2) In prisons, nursing homes, welfare homes, mental health care institutions, as well as school classrooms, construction site dormitories and other densely populated places.

Protection recommendations: in medium and low-risk areas, daily spare masks (single-use medical masks or medical surgical masks) should be carried with them, and masks should be worn when people are gathered or in close contact with other people (less than or equal to 1 meter). In high-risk areas, staff wear medical surgical masks or protective masks of KN95/N95 and above; other personnel wear single-use medical masks.

Three key people

New coronavirus pneumonia suspected cases, confirmed cases and asymptomatic infected; new coronavirus pneumonia close contacts; entry (from the beginning of entry to the end of the quarantine).

Protective advice: Wear a medical surgical mask or a protective mask without an exhalation valve that meets KN95/N95 and above.

Four, occupational exposure

(a) general outpatient clinics, wards and other medical staff; low-risk areas of medical institutions emergency medical staff; engaged in the prevention and control of the epidemic related to the administrative personnel, police, security, cleaning.

Protection: Wear a medical surgical mask.

(ii) personnel working in the wards and ICUs of patients with confirmed and suspected cases of novel coronavirus pneumonia; medical personnel in fever clinics of designated medical institutions; medical personnel in the emergency departments of medical institutions in medium- and high-risk areas; personnel involved in epidemiological investigations, laboratory tests, and environmental disinfection; and personnel involved in the transfer of confirmed and suspected cases.

Protection: Wear a protective mask.

(3) operators engaged in respiratory specimen collection; tracheotomy, tracheal intubation, tracheoscopy, sputum suctioning, cardiopulmonary resuscitation of patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia, or lung transplantation, pathological dissection staff.

Protection recommendations: hooded (or full-face) powered air filtration respiratory protection, or half-face powered air filtration respiratory protection with goggles or full-face screen; both types of respiratory protection need to use P100 anti-particulate filter element, the filter element is not reusable, and the protective equipment is sterilized for use.

Fifth, the use of precautions

(a) respiratory protection equipment, including masks and masks, before wearing, after removing should wash their hands.

(b) When wearing a mask, pay attention to the front and back and up and down, the mask should cover the mouth and nose, adjust the nose clip to fit the face.

(c) Avoid touching the inside and outside of the mask with your hands while wearing it, and remove the mask by removing the strings at both ends.

(d) Wearing more than one mask does not increase protection, but rather increases breathing resistance and may jeopardize the fit.

(e) There is no evidence of the effectiveness of the various measures to clean and sterilize the mask.

(f) Single-use medical masks and medical surgical masks are limited to use, the cumulative use of no more than 8 hours. Occupationally exposed persons use masks no more than 4 hours, can not be reused.
